The most ballsy part of it for me was the fact that he went to physically rescue her. At the time he thought he was driving to physically confront his enemies.

In terms of his parents, he does seem to take his mother's threats to heart more than he should, but he seemed to figure that this was a one time thing and it was better to ask forgiveness than ask permission. My guess is that he would have been genuinely shocked if he had more serious consequences at home than a bitching out.

But he honestly expected there might be real serious shit going down in Cleveland and he charged into the middle of it.

It was pretty ballsy, but it's also worth bearing in mind that Chris didn't seem to think his threats through. The possibility that people might fight back never really seems to have occurred to him. This is a guy who thought he could mace someone without consequences.

4) It is some sort of totem of his womanhood. He gets satisfaction from having things that only women would have. The idea that it is a part of womanhood that no woman is particularly stoked about doesn't register because he doesn't experience a menstrual cycle.

That strikes me as the mose likely.

I'd go with this. Chris views femininity like Pokemon or Sanic - he's got to get all the merchandise to show what a huge fan he is.

I cant decide if this is worthy of a thread or not. But what mental age do you think Chris is?

One theory I've seen expressed on this board is that it's approximately half his real age. This would certainly tie in with the fact that he's started doing things that would annoy Barb - he's going through his teenage rebellion phase.

Seriously though, I don't think mental age is meaningful when talking about Chris.

I've always felt setting a concrete mental age never works out to making sense. I feel like you cant even strictly define the behavior of any child of any age. Chris can be anywhere from 4-15 years old depending on his mood. Sometimes rarely he's even an adult. Not often but sometimes.

The deep effects of the asperchu saga

Hey everybody,
I joined this community because I knew this is the one place I could get good info on all things cwc. What I want to know is if there has been any information compiled on the affects of asperchu on chris as a person, how it really got into his psyche and more than likely caused the tomgirl shitshow we see today. I can't find a specific article about it on the cwcki, and I think that a deep introspection into the asperchu chain of events would be a very rewarding read. I'm sure there is something out there or maybe on this very website, but I just need to be pointed in the right direction. I'm glad to join this community and I promise to do my fair share of contribution

It's like, It has always seemed like chris had this very reserved insanity, I mean like you knew something in him was just itching to break, like the episode of mst3k where mike goes temporarily insane and starts dressing like a woman. I just recently listened to all of the alec calls and you can tell alecs subtlety is just driving down into parts of chris's brain, dredging up the harshness of reality. I think that the molestation of chris's fantasy world that he suffered at the hands of the whole asperpedia/simonchu/cwickipedia saga just plain broke him. I say this because I am just now catching up on events after a good 3 years of not paying attention to developments and the whole christine thing to me just seems like our beloved cwc has finally cracked into very serious mental illnesses much worse than anybody could have seen coming.

That seems more than a little far-fetched, and the fact that you seem to be basing this premise on a TV show that specifically requested viewers not take it too seriously isn't helping your point. Personally, I think it's more likely that Chris is basing his identity on his warped beliefs about gender roles than anything else.

Also, comparing someone parodying his terrible webcomic to molestation of all things is perilously close to claiming that trolling Chris is literally rape. You might want to cool things down a little bit.

While I suppose the word has an appropriate denotation, the connotations are strong enough that it should not be used lightly. And most people do have plenty of respect for Chris. By all accounts, he's much happier identifying as female than he was previously. If you compare his life currently to that of Classic Chris, he is getting out much more and interacting with people who are genuinely supportive of him. Despite the numerous hardships he's faced recently, many of which are entirely of his own making, his current life is actually probably much better for him. Shouldn't you respect his decision on how he wants to live his life?

On a side note, we have a little function called the edit button here. If you want to add something to your post, you can go back and add it in, instead of double posting. On a side side note, I think you should maybe take the MST3K mantra a little more seriously than you are at the moment. It's just the internet, you really should relax.

Chris is pretty resistant to trolling these days - it took a long time for him to get the message, and it might be argued that he's more paranoid than sensible, but the days when you could just say "Chris is gay" and get five videos and a mention in Sonichu are long gone. I'm not saying he's a paragon of sanity (see: blarms), but I don't think his mental health is at risk from trolls.
