Joking aside, this is legitimately a great move on Sega's part.
I'm actually surprised they haven't done this before seeing how simple their character designs are and how many of their fans make recolors.
 
Sega will surly be able to buy an island with the money this makes them, most likely a big one like Ireland or Australia. But that's neither here nor there So that probably leaves you asking "Well then TiggerNits, what really matters?"

To which I reply

"What things is Chris going to sell on eBay to buy this?

Will he dig up Patti?

Will he try to sell his original Sonichu comics?

Will he sell Son-chu?

What about his love doll or the Artic Navy moored up in his freezer?

Will Ms. Bustcakes sell herself?

Post your bets here. Because the Financhu Crisis is fucking boring and tranny-Chris is awful, and this might make both a little bearable.

I think Chris is going to have a prolonged orgasm lasting until holiday 2017. If the final product doesn't have electric attacks though, he's going to have a massive autistic meltdown.

Sonichu's way more than just a yellow recolor! He's a yellow recolor with a Pikachu tail tacked on the back!

If Chris can't customize his Sonichu exactly in LBP, the same could be the case here.
 
Chris will probably make an announcement demanding everyone to go out and buy this game and follow his character creation tutorial so they can officially play a Sonichu Adventure.

Though, I'm sure plenty will just make blarm Sonic just to spite him.
 
But can we make human characters, because that is a thing in Sonic games? I want to see people customize a Chris Chan.

They are only lagging behind Super Mario Maker by something like 3 years. They are even more out of touch than Nintendo...

The difference is far less people jack off to their custom Mario levels than original Sonic characters.
