How could I get Chris to do a video where he sings Salt Sweat Sugar by Jimmy Eat World?

The first issues of the online Sonichu comics were uploaded in 2005 and received little fanfare, but .. made it on to the popular internet message board 4chan. From there Sonichu and the then unseen to the internet Chris made it on to Encyclopedia Dramati.ca, a popular wiki with pages on all sorts of internet oddballs. As his page continued to grow with information found about him and each new issue of Sonichu, he was eventually given his own wiki known as the “CWCki”. In time this site would document every aspect of his life, and provide most of the information found here.

Chris’s impending fame took a huge turn in 2007 when a photo of him was uploaded on to Encyclopedia Dramatica. The blurry photo was taken at “The Game Place”, a card and hobby store where Chris went to play the Pokemon card game, sometimes dressed as Pokemon protagonist “Ash”, often against children half his age. The photographer was a kid named Daniel Mimms who had become upset with the angry attitude displayed by Chris during card games. Upon discovering the Encyclopedia Dramatica page, Mimms took a cell phone picture of Chris and uploaded it

Tbh I still am shocked that people take time out of their life to make an entire wiki with hundreds of lengthy articles on a random autist on the internet. I mean yeah some of it is funny but I sorta feel bad for the people who "chronicle" his life.

Cmon guys there's no reason to pick on the new guy just because they created an account to come in here and ask a question they could have gotten the answer to with about five minutes of research due to the fact that their life is so jammed pack with mountains of super important shit they couldn't be asset to do it on their own.

I am near 100% certain that he was first discovered on SomethingAwful forums by someone who lived by him. The Tale of the Crazy Pacer was several years earlier, but that wasn't what got him internet famous. Tale of the Crazy Pacer was just a shitty blog entry by Anna, which no one read until later because no one cares about Anna

So it depends on what you mean by "discovered"... If you mean the first non-Chris mention of him on the internet, then that was Tale of the Crazy Pacer, but if you mean what started his internet famousness, it was someone on SA. From SA, the ED article appeared, which started the ED talk page, which started Cwcki/PVCC, etc..

EDIT: @Marvin may be able to correct me on this, but I remember reading it somewhere

uh actually it's called Bleed American

But seriously, maybe if you offered him money to do it correctly? We all know Chris can't carry a tune to save his life, so maybe keep it to getting the lyrics right and keeping pace with the song.

He's claimed (via hitting "attending" or whatever on facebook) that he's going to Bronycon in Baltimore next weekend. Trolls have tried to get him to go to conventions for years, mostly because getting Chris drunk in a public place is always fun. And these sorts of conventions are basically weekend long parties. Basically marti gras with nerdery.

But Chris never disobeys Barb to go, and he's too cheap to get a hotel room, so it never happens.

So probably not.

That sounds on target.

There's always a bunch of people who want to claim to be the first to have discovered Chris. Or to have been "there" when it happened. So I'm usually kinda skeptical of these claims.

But from what I've seen, the Something Awful theory seems to check out. That seems to be the first internet interest in Chris as a lolcow.

You know, I don't think anyone really discovered Chris. I think that Chris discovered the Internet and desperately tried to get as much attention as possible, which attracted certain people.

I never knew till now it was ever called that ... It was renamed here in the UK.

There's a lot of people who try to get as much attention as possible, though. Most don't succeed. Chris only succeeded because someone, who posted on SA forums, found him. Back in the day, SA was pretty much the "mainstream" hub for lolcows. 4chan/ED slowly took over as SA started to dwindle in popularity.

I totally agree, but Chris himself had something. He tried to get attention for being some idealization as a human being but instead became famous for the exact opposite. Chris pretending to be almost god-like and perfect while being a tard who admits to shitting himself got him where he is today. Although some might try, most don't have that negative star quality.

Heh, Barb didn't let him ever try it in the first place (at least not as far as I can recall).

But I think she's the only thing holding him back from trying it. People think Barb holds Chris back from doing stupid shit, and nine times out of ten, they're mistaken.

Chris does whatever he wants all day long and Barb doesn't say boo about it. As long as she gets bananas and the tugboat when she needs it, she doesn't give a shit (or rather, almost certainly has no clue what's going on).

But I would imagine she'd notice if Chris stayed out for a couple of nights.
