In all likelihood, Chris is Barb's medical emergency contact. With everything that Chris shares online, it wouldn't be that hard to call Barb's doctor pretending to be him and get that information.

I don't remember hearing about anyone contacting Barb's doctor. I do remember someone sending police to 14BC and requesting they perform a welfare check on Barb.

I think it was something someone said in one of the begging video threads that had Barb in them.

Most doctors offices give you the option to share that information with designated individuals. I'd be willing to bet that with the level of codependence they exhibit that Chris has permission to get information about Barb.

I don't think Barb has codependence towards Chris any more than she has codependence towards any of the objects she owns. Chris is just a possession she owns, like all the other ones, and you'll only take away one of her possessions over her cold, dead body.

Her giving Chris access to medical info depends on to what extent Barb believes (and manages to think ahead far enough) that Chris having access to her information is important to her survival. She'd refuse to give him access to anything unless she actually believes it's important for her. Which means it's a tug-of-war between her ego and her good sense. It's a toss up.

You're correct that they shouldn't be able to get any information out of somebody else's doctor, but that might not always be the case if they're unethical. When Chris was arrested for pepper spraying the GameStop employee people called the jail and got information about that, and while thay is completely different I don't think law enforcement should share such information either. Now the doctor call claim had no evidence so I'm a bit skeptical, but there's almost no reason to believe that Barb is super unhealthy. Chris would play it up to for begging and if she were actually really unhealthy he would be bitching about it. Like I said Barb, and to a much lesser extent Chris aren't above manipulating and lying to get what they want. It seems awfully suspicious that the only mentions of Barb being unhealthy are when they're begging.

When Phil claimed to have had an orchiectomy somebody contacted the urologist (or maybe it was one of their staff) and they confirmed that Phil did not have his spicy meatballs removed and that he was removed from the building for becoming aggressive. So while unlikely it's not entirely impossible that somebody did contact the Chandlers' doctor's office.

It's illegal for the hospital to give out information on a patient. They can't even say if a patient is there. HIPAA laws are taken very seriously and there can be very bad consequences if you don't comply. There's zero chance that a ween got Barb's medical information from the hospital unless they worked for the hospital and were willing to risk their job and a lot of money in a potential lawsuit to do so, which is not going to happen.

This is correct. Emergency contact only gets contacted if there is an emergency (i.e. "Barb is in the ER"), but they cannot give out medical information to the EC.

Sorry to keep bringing Barb up, but if she were in ok health and just being manipulative, how did she become so thin? Her weight loss is what makes me think she's not healthy. I know older people lose weight, but in my opinion, she looks too thin. She also appears to look more frail than a healthy woman would be at her age.
Her balance seems off as well in some videos I've seen. Maybe I think Barb has a Neuro condition because my grandmother has one, and I'm seeing what I want to see, but Barb's weight loss is the one thing I can't explain away.

He only lasted for a week or so, and then moved mountains to get a replacement. Autists in general can obsess over stuff in that way, that's why you have Wikis documenting everything media-related from what Master Chief said in the 1st Halo game to what Luffy ate before he fought Crocodile. And Chris is a big autist with lots of free time.

But they're mainly used as a way for non-family members to get medical treatment for a minor or a severely disabled person without the legal guardian(s) present. And they usually come into play only when the person is accompanying a sick or injured patient to a hospital or doctor's office.

A living will would be another way for someone to get info. But they only come into play when the patient is very ill or injured and cannot make medical decisions for themselves.

Neither thing fits Barb's situation.
