Pretty sure MHS had guidance counselors..

"Christian would be a good equipment manager, mmkay"
Being an equipment manager or the waterboy isn't rocket science, you know? Just collect the equipment, put it in the closet/dressing room, fill up the water bottles in advance...etc, plus, he had someone with him.

I know Chris is an imbecile, but he is capable of handling menial tasks just fine. He may he slower at it than normal people, but technically speaking, he's still capable nonetheless.

but what led him to accept the position when he has never had any interest in bball, at least from what we can tell? I guess he handled that better than the Wendy's job

Chris is the kind of person who needs to be told what to do, so that probably solves the interest part of the question.

As for the 2nd component of your question, school is vastly different from work, when working, you are expected to quickly figure things out for yourself, think on your feet and establish effective daily routines to do your job properly, especially in the fast-food industry, which can be quite high pressure at times.

And to be honest, I still don't understand why Chris didn't just use his CADD certificate? He's someone who is far better suited to low wage entry-level desk work than working in some dinky Wendy's down the road, where he has to deal with shouting customers, high pressure and sensory overload.

At least, he should have gone for being some assistant mail room clerk or something. I guess his parents were just relieved that he finished college so they can just keep him behind closed doors or something.

I would think a simple clerical job would've suited him if it was possible for him to just sit in a cubicle typing things into the server when asked for.

probably because he had no real interest in CADD to begin with, and marketing would have needed 4+ year degree, it has ended being no more useful than "useless" majors like philosophy, but Chris(tine) can any degree useless without any kind of with ethic or social skills or interest in the field, no one would be interested in marketing sonichu 15 years ago

I don't suppose Manchester High had a vocational section Bob could've tried sticking him in while still going to a public school? Many schools sometimes have such routes were a student could either go college prep. or vocational, and could take a course lasting a year or two and receive a certificate in that course. I know mine did that with many different course they offered.

What you're saying is very true, but Chris could've at least used it as a way in there, he won't be the 1st cow to work a job that's beneath his technical qualifications.

What happens to the unpaid debts to Toys R Us Chris(tine) might have?

What, like a Toys R Us credit card or something? Toy stores don't just let you say, "Put this My Little Pony on my tab."

If it's a credit card, it will have been issued by a bank on behalf of Toys R Us. They'll own the debt and continue to collect on it regardless of what happens to the store.

This maybe late but Chris Chan is selling The Guy Game which is illegal to sell.
According to the government, there was a girl who was under 18 who showed their breasts on camera.
Chris could be arrested on the spot if a ween calls the police about this.

how'd those games survive the great 14BLC hoard fire of '14?

From the link:

"The ''R''Us Credit Card is issued by Synchrony Bank. The ''R''Us Mastercard is issued by Synchrony Bank pursuant to a license by Mastercard International Incorporated."

He owes the money to Synchrony Bank, and they're not a subsidiary of Toys R Us, so he'll just continue paying them as usual. If he pays at the Toys R Us site he'll just have to pay Synchrony Bank directly.

The most that will happen will be that he'll be issued a new card with "Synchrony Bank" on it instead of "Toys R Us".

Synchrony Bank also has the option of selling the debt of the Toys R Us card holders to another financial institution but I don't see why that would happen. But if it did he'll still be expected to pay the debt.

Don't call anybody!

Chris somehow saved a ridiculous amount of his garbage from the fire.

In regards to: why didn't Bob push Chris to get a job? Bob was leaving Chris and Barb with a decent chunk of money. He probably hoped Barb would pay off the house and Chris would have his tugboat and a place to live in his adulthood.

I'm curious, do we know exactly when Bob put Chris on the tugboat? Was it before, during, or after Chris's tenure at PVCC? Was there a point when Bob realized that an independent, employed Chris was just a pipedream and that his idiot son would never do anything with his life beyond scribbling drawings and playing video games? When did hope die in Bob's heart?
