Or maybe he had to barter for more of them between other people perhaps, like your contraband but not completely trading over goods for drugs/alcohol or anything, just simple things like stationery or written utensils that Chris got from other people (presuming he's not in complete solitary).
It seems that if he was provided with these things to begin with, then why wait so long to write a letter to Null?
Maybe it's not that elaborate of a situation he's in, but it's still something to think about whilst he's awaiting his trial.

Commissary seems more likely than Chris interacting with other inmates. Perhaps he got a small amount to write with and he used it for begging. To his aunt, to Rocky, who knows. We know a lot about Chris, but there could be people at his church or whatever we don’t know about. He’d send out please for help before bitching to his own personal Judas as Null’s one of the last people who would help him now, and Chris knows it. So he didn’t send out the bitchfest letter until he was issued more paper and envelopes. All supposition based on what other people have posted about jail, naturally.

I think at that point, people would say "Chris would never rape his mom; he just says it, but doesn't act on it." Chris has gotten lucky after vehicular assault and assault with a weapon. Even after all that and professionals who examined Chris gave him a pass, but on their error, they never would have thought ""what else can Chris do worse?"
I think the real point of concern would be if Chris actually did act on that and Bob was still alive, would he testify against his own son?

Chris has always tried to lie and keep his dirty laundry secret - and FAILED time and time again, because autism and humiliation fetish. I think if Chris and Barb had been getting it on while he was alive, Chris would have spilled the beans in some way or another. Honestly my gut tells me that the Barb and Chris relationship has never not been emotionally incestuous. Very often women who marry dry macho man types like Bob never get the emotional support they need - instead of getting a divorce or confiding in gal pals, they predatorily turn to their sons for rescuing and emotional soothing. The spooning there is a HUGE RED FLAG - not necessarily of any physical abuse but certainly of emotional.
I know that sometimes kids w/ ASD need to be held or patted or even spooned when they're having a meltdown, but as they age and hit puberty there has to be a transition - especially with Chris who unfortunately for the rest of us did develop sexually. After really watching this long docu and the latest stuff with Barb, this case just shows the levels of destruction that can be achieved with late-age pregnancy, developmental disorder, and codependent dynamics. Personally, I am at the point (which i know rate me late) where I really understand that Chris did not need any trolls to do gross stuff - he was perfectly capable of being a misogynistic pig - especially when raised by two parents too elderly to raise any child much less a retarded one. The codependent mental health bullshit in the family seriously fascinates me. And @Hogar Grupal , no I don't think Bob would testify against Chris. There were many instances in the Chandler family history where his parents could have intervened appropriately and they never did - in face they did their best to shield him from reality and its consequences.

Sex fantasies and kinks are not always clean cut and are not always directly about power. Other family members are much more than just their direct relation to the one person who's the subject of the issue. Bob may have been Chris's father, but however little of a relationship we may have seen them to have, he was also Barb's husband.

Bob seemed to have some sort of breaking point that Barb never did. He would have had Chris committed and resolved to visit him 4 times a week, provide extra money so he could have his snacks and toys in the facility, etc. But I think that from what we know it's pretty certain that after something this egregious he would have kept Chris apart from Barb permanently, and since Chris couldn't handle living on his own even if Bob was paying for it the nuthouse would be the only option.

I think the Attraction Sign was literally a sign for help with Chris' sexual urges. But like many things, parents, Particularly Bob, didn't do anything, having the wishful thinking that it's a fad and that it would go away. A better parent would have gone to a specialist.

Except they did do something, particularly Bob - they enabled him and taught him that he was entitled to girls' and womens' bodies. I don't get why autists think Bob is such a hero. Trannies loves to blame women for everything, but Bob was part of that poisonous triangle. A great example is the hoarding and Bob's reaction to their home being filmed and put on the internet. As a reasonably educated man, he knew that APS and the county would come sniffing around, so he went on a rampage (which Chris mirrored). Both Bob and Barb decided not to get psychiatric help for their autistic son and had their own delusions about what "high-functioning" autism really meant. Rather than deal with the shame of the reality that their kid desperately needed help, they let the church and the internet fill in the gaps for him. With all these things being true, if Bob had witnessed anything fucked up in that house he probably would have had a good old fashioned rampage and sent them both to their rooms... if they could get to them through the swamp of garbage in the house. The fucked up truth is that sexual abuse is VERY COMMON in families - in fact is much more likely than getting attacked by some rando troon leaping out of the bushes (as terrifying as that is).
If Bob really had the capacity to put aside his shame and delusions for the benefit of his family, that would have happened before Chris's 18th birthday or at the very latest by his 30th. They wouldn't have needed to wait until he got busted trying out the Disability Tongue Twist on his geriatric mother.

We do need to remember that in the 80s and 90s, people were still learning about autism and how to help people who have it. Bob was wrong about what would have happened, but it wouldn’t have been as good as autists have it now. The resources have improved over the decades.
Chris should not have been in a mainstream school, though. They had the option and refused it like stubborn fools.
But anyway, Bob would have put Barb before Chris if the rape happened while he was alive. You don’t rape a man’s wife, even if you’re his kid. Especially if you’re his kid. It’s layers of wrong.

lots of autists grew up in that time period and post the Reagan deinstitutionalization movement sure most of them probably ended up homeless - but they didn't necessarily become what Chris became. His autism isn't what separates him from others, but rather the feedback loop of neglect in his home plus the autistic documentation of his life.
Again, I don't understand why there's this vision of Bob as this "honorable man." He was an impotent old fuck by Chris's adolescence.
