Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

What do you all make of Chris almost entirely avoiding mention of the trial or legal matters in the letters? People must be asking all the time, but nothing substantive comes through in the responses beyond only the vaguest “this will all work out.” I’m normally pretty good with taking some small hint from a letter and extrapolating it to some, (probably entirely bogus and bird-brained,) conclusion about Chris’s mental state but I’m just drawing a blank. I don’t think the lawyer has been mentioned at all, even though he’s Chris’s only in person outside interaction. That’s gotta imply… something?

I'm sure it'll be a really big thing here. Chris was and is the Farms biggest lolcow, after all. Some people will cheer at his death, some might mourn a little, or else be sad at being at the end of the very long, very tragic, very depressing story that was the life of Christian Weston Chandler. I imagine news of his death would circle around the internet for a time. Maybe #ChrisChanIsDead will trend that day. Ruckersville will breath a long sigh of relief at being rid of the Chandlers at long last. The world at large though wont give a shit. Christian Weston Chandler will die, and the world will keep on spinning.
No I think many will be genuinely sad when he dies, Chris was the first and most famous true lolcow of the Internet, he is responsible for so much content, drama and hilarity in Chan and cow culture. Entire sites like the CWCki, ED, and the farms would not exist or be a quarter as popular as popular without him. Love him or hate him, Chris is too instrumental to our history to not care about when he passes. Honestly I do hope that when it happens lots of ‘fans’ visit his funeral, he’s brought us so much over the years. Despite everything he’s done I’ll still mourn his passing and be deeply saddened by it. I hope others can at least ‘try’ to be respectful of a dead man, even though many might rejoice.

Personally, I think Chris writes about his fantasy land because it makes him happy and that's what he likes to talk about with the weens.

You're post got me thinking tangentially though. Inmates in the US are the only group with a constitutional right to healthcare. Denying healthcare is a violation of the Eighth Amendment because it would be considered cruel and unusual punishment. I was wondering if this extended to mental healthcare as well? In Virginia it does. I found a document online from 11-1-2019 for the minimum standards for mental healthcare in Virginia's jails. On intake a basic physical and mental health evaluation occurs. Any red flags and the jail must have a plan in place immediately to ensure the inmate's safety. This can mean keeping them away from the other inmates, suicide watch, etc. Inmates suspected of having a serious mental heath problem have to have a comprehensive assessment done within 7 days and begin treatment.

So here's Chris Chan who's likely received zero mental health services his whole life and now the state legal/ jail system is probably having a major "Awww shit!" moment. It's more than just trying to find him placement that's causing the continuances; they have to diagnosis him and begin treatment. Wow.

The Virginia justice system has probably handled basketcases 100 times worse than Chris before. He truly is nothing special to them.

This is interesting; I never knew about the healthcare requirement details but it makes sense. Paradoxically, I do believe Chris has been more ludic in the letters than he's been in a long time. The actual content is completely crazy but most of them are pretty straightforward to follow as a reader. It's off the wall, but when Chris claims to be a goddess and a reincarnation of all major deities, I have no problem following the thought.

Another random thought, since he gender swapped Emanuel to Emanuelle, changing his claimed spiritual father to spiritual mother, has Robertchu also morphed to Robertcha in this mythos?

…that we know of. We only have Chris' word for that, and Chris is a very unreliable narrator.
He would have bragged about it. He couldn’t resist.

Those things bore him and he might think they bore everyone else too. Wouldn’t his true and loyal fans rather hear about his new religion and daydreams?

I would be kind of relieved in a sense since it means his life finally can’t get any worse. It would be sort of sad, though. Loss of life usually is. I wouldn’t be “deeply” sad, but I’d be sad. I wouldn’t celebrate.

My first impulse is to say “no,” but Chris is really disrespectful to Bob and has expressed that Bob bothered him by trying to make Chris do shit. I can see Chris emasculating his memory in that way.

Yes with a major but, most loony toons and vegetables of sorts don't have 1k+ people watching them and also already have some form of file/care previous to jail where the best thing the system has for Chris is literally the cwciki.
Chris is special to say the least and the mental evaluation isn't a one and done on such a person but multiple times multiple visits before they reach a conclusion.

Thank you for saying it better than I did. I do agree the Virginia justice system has definitely handled people 100 times worse than Chris. It's just that the Chris situation does present some interesting issues.

So I saw this film that was released in 2013 called The Congress. Short story, it takes place in the distant future where an actress agrees to be scanned like (mo cap) so that she can 'live forever' with whatever acting role the film studio wanted. The film takes a turn as it switches between live action and animation. As part of the film's story, this cartoon world also features animated characters from their real world counter parts (mostly celebs). It's basically what Chris wants the merge to be, with his religious fantasy. However, this film is more futuristic sci-fi. The ending is kind of bleak, as the message of the film is how people will sacrifice illusion over reality - which is what's happening to OPL now. It's funny this film came out before the idea guys started messing with Chris and instilling da merge on him. I wonder what he would think if he saw this film?

That said, the Greene County courts are now under a new law (thanks to Rob Bell of all people) requiring them to find placement in suitable mental health care facilities (read: tard homes) for all their "special" inmates upon release. That law is new and likely Greene County is having some trouble working out how to abide by it.

On the contrary, he was ordered by the court to undergo counselling after the Game Stop incident. Chris made of that counselling as would be expected.

He would have bragged about it. He couldn’t resist.

He bragged about finally having a Boyfriend Free Girl, not the actual sex itself, which could have been going on for years before Chris made it "official" in his head.

Those things bore him and he might think they bore everyone else too.

Also Chris tends to ignore things he doesn't understand. Or doesn't think he understands - Chris' actual understanding is limited.

That's pretty interesting. How would Greene County have trouble by abiding it? Is it because Chris would be one of the first (potential) releases?

They also generally want to make sure you're not faking or exaggerating. And obviously if the defense doesn't like the prosecutor's expert, they'll often get their own expert. I'm not sure what kind of funding Heilberg has his disposal but he'd almost certainly be allowed at least one expert if it becomes an issue.

I think Heilberg got way in over his head with Chris. I can see both the state and whatever shrink Heilberg can dig out having issues with Chris, especially since all his "delusions" and "insanity" is all fabricated to the point where Chris can yammer on about it for hours. His letters now are getting increasingly dull because it's the same shit over and over. Imagine going in for an evaluation two months after the last one, and all the delusions are exactly the same, minus whatever Chris concocts from his day dreams.

Couple that with Chris's nonchalant attitude to the entire thing means he's not motivated to do anything that would help. He still believes this is the punishment, so the actual guilt and trial, in Chris's mind was established when Null betrayed him. He's probably treating all this like his various deferments he received for his past crimes.

How would Greene County have trouble by abiding it?

It's a new law. Were Chris being tried in, say, Richmond, they would probably have already established protocols and working relationships with the various tard homes and other facilities. Likely they'd just send him back to whatever tard home he came from. Greene County, on the other hand, is tiny and rural, and Chris has never been in a tard home before. Chris may well be their first special case, and there's no previous place to send him back to. Finding a new placement, especially a first time placement, can take months, even under the best circumstances.

I suspect most of these evaluations are actually from various mental health managed care facilities, evaluating Chris to see if he qualifies for their particular sort of housing, but that has to be done within the legal framework he's been dumped into. Both the defense and prosecution are looking for somewhere to make it part of the inevitable plea deal. The defense is trying for the best place they can find for Chris while the prosecution is looking for the soonest placement.

He's practiced criminal law all the way up to capital murder cases. I think he can handle a retard who diddled his mom.

There are evaluations a jail does to determine what if any treatment plan someone needs, and evaluations the prosecution or defense does to support their case. Sometimes people even hire both a consultative expert (so as to have work-product privilege on what he tells you) and a testifying expert (who gets deposed and actually testifies).

I don't think Greene County is going to fund that Cadillac-tier kind of stuff though.

Exactly, which is why I strongly suspect (though I don't actually know for a certain, but I base this on other cases I've seen) that all these "mental evaluations" are actually placement interviews. And Chris has failed every one so far. I mean what else could they be? Heilberg and Consolvo(?) aren't debating Chris' guilt - he absolutely fucked his mother. They're not debating his sanity - no normal person would fuck Barb. They're trying to figure out what the fuck to do with him.

Chris is ridiculously fortunate he was caught for a motherfucker AFTER Rob Bell's recent law requiring the court to find housing for speds like Chris. If the court wasn't required to find a place for Chris, they'd be far, far less inclined to work with Heilberg on a deal.

So it's kind of like mandatory section 8. Instead of one going through the motions and doing the work themselves, it would be on the government. The only similarity is the wait time/waitlist. I wonder if Rob Bell thought of Chris when he was making this law?
