Chris is probably better off in jail awaiting trial than he'd be in prison as a convict.

He has his own cell, he’s protected from bullies and online con artists, he can buy trash food, gets three meals a day, and shelter. He doesn’t have any responsibilities and is pretty good at entertaining himself.

Alone in a cell for about 2 years would break anyone
But Chris is like mud
You can stomp on it
Shove it into a box
But it just adapts to the shape of your boot or the box

I have a jail game system only available through commissary in a few states including Virginia
In other words if Chris wants to game this is basically his only option
It is one of those Chinese handheld gaming devices with built in games
you know the type
A bunch of rip off barely dodging copyright games that are fun for like 10 minutes

Just thought it was funny that this could possibly be Chris's only gaming devices

I’ll admit, I nearly pooped myself with the thought that the courts would really be worm-brained enough to release him. Glad I was wrong.

It's happened before. Once a jail released someone by 3 months or so. He followed through and talked to his lawyer who showed up in a zoom meeting. He had to go back but was allowed an additional day to sort out his personal properties and finished his sentence without a hitch.

Another time, a gf of a convict showed up as a sheriff and had release papers and the small town jail didn't question it and let him go.

A lot of jail goods are outdated and see-through. The transparency is to prevent contraband. The outdateness is to prevent using it for unattended means and as a way to not make it too comfortable. You're in prison for retribution, not for luxury. Most times.

Inmates can have HG-501 or HG-503. Lets go with Chris nad HG-503...

Unsurprisingly, it's a clear plastic device that runs on batteries and comes with some super underwhelming built-in minigames. You won't be playing Grand Theft Auto V or even Sonic The Hedgehog 2 on this baby. No sane manufacturer would preload this with illegal game ROMs and ship it off to a state correctional facility, right?

The games on this console appear to have been made for it, or for earlier variations of it (which were "normal" and meant for the outside world, not just prisoners).

And, these games are indeed very basic time-killers that likely won't hold the attention of a grown adult for long, but are still probably better than nothing. They're looking as if they were made in the early 90s, the kind of games you'll see on a SEGA Genesis or GameGear. But there are plenty of them, though – shoot 'em ups, racing games, platformers, basic sudoku and card games… Lots to choose from, over 40 opportunities for disappointment!

A lot of the appeal wasn't just Chris himself, who is often pretty dull when left to his own devices, but the trolls who were actually funny instead of the try-hard losers and outright psychopaths we have now.

I agree and also I feel a lot of the magic was lost when Chris moved away from video logs, you don't get a lot of the charm of his mannerisms in purely text form on social media.

Amazing how accurately it manages to replicate Pmurt's vocal patterns. The tone of "...and it's not true, folks" part especially makes it sound like he had to move a bit further away from the mic to make some incredulous gesture as to underline how much of a true and honest woman Rosechu is.

I just realized how terrifying of a tool this AI would be in the hands of an Idea-guy like troll. Imagine the damage someone could do if they trained it on Bob's voice (or something equally fucked up), and then used it on Chris.
