Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

When I first found out about Chris, I was shocked and oddly fascinated at his antics, then I went through a phase of wanting to help Chris, then I started hating him and his behaviour, then his retardation was just funny, but now I don't even know how to feel about him - how should I feel?
This sounds like the five stages of 'tism grief.

I have been bullied before and I work with autistic people at foster homes, I know many potential "lolcows" but I also see how they live their lives...sure you guys have a small window into their lives but actually helping and working with them is somethinf completly different. I am not saying Chris is good, just that you are worse.
You seem to be assuming that this forum controls everything that happens in Chris' life. The big trolling events, the "classic era," took place around 2007-2010, and most of the figures involved in that period aren't here, or if they are, they aren't involved in trolling any more. Much of what Chris does is entirely of his own volition or outside of this forum's control. If some 12-year-old wants to phone Chris up and yell "JULAAAAY!" then there's not much that people here can do about that.

IMO, Chris is beyond help because he is inherently self-destructive. He will throw away any opportunity for self-improvement - he was doing that before the Internet even existed. He's only interested in being your friend if you can give him something. If you think you have the insight to make his life better, then go right ahead. Hell, a lot of people would actually like to see Chris improve.

Chris's major life decisions were not influenced by the Trolls. When Kacey tried to help him get a job, be responsible with money, try to straighten up his life, Chris lied and said he was improving when in reality he was playing vidya all day and had no real drive to get a job.

Chris is capable of labor. He could easily make 1000 a month and still keep his tugboat+any help Barb is getting. Trolls aside, Chris would be in the same place without them and the internet. He doesn't want to work, he doesn't want to improve, he just wants to vidya all day.

Honestly I think he likes the attention, even the bad attention.

Well, it is better than no attention at all and being barred from actual spaces. Sadly, no one can ban Chris from the internet as a whole, if it were possible, it probably would have happened a long time ago when Chris made horrible threats to Adam Stackhouse and drew naked pictures.

I think its fascinating following Chris. He is a naive mind who up until recently had to responsibility or real stress in life. He was an eternal child, but also wanted adult things like sex and a sweetheart. Hes so open about things because hes too dumb to realize what hes saying/doing. His selfishness as an example, or how he just lies over and over and thinks hes fooling people, or how he only interacts with people who he thinks can give him something (money, sex, opportunities).

Its almost like seeing the worst humanity offers, and what exists in a lot of people but they try to hide it. With Chris its all out in the open.

Of course the comedy of how gullible he is, or the strange things he comes up with/does is just comedy gold too. To me its amazing to know someone out there in the world lies their life like this everyday for their entire life. They never left the grade/middle school mindset. I can only imagine 10+years from now when hes above 40 what he will be like. Will he be able to manage after Barbs death? Will he have a mid-life crisis ?!

Hes essentially the "Austistic Truman Show" of modern times.

Chris has gone quiet since July came in and he received his tugboat. What week does everyone think he'll choose to start begging again this month? I'm going to guess that we'll only hear from him in small doses until around the late teens of this month, when he's desperate to recoup all that tugboat money he frittered away on toys and other luxury.

Chris can work, but Chris can't hold down a job.

Urgency and necessity have a way of making us do things when we dont want to. When Barb dies, if Chris doesn't get some sort of inheritance or increase in tugboat hes going to have to work to support himself. This will be the ultimate test, he has never really needed to work up until this future point. If he keeps his mouth shut and just stocks shelves or greets at wal-mart with simple hellos and have a nice day I think he can get by.

The way his donations are going though it looks like he has morons who will support him even through barbs death. 10 years from now though idk if these people are still going to be around to give him handouts.

I have been wondering this random thought. How much of his bullshit is him genuinely believing from beginning to end that he is doing the right thing? Versus something he knows to be bad but comes up with excuses, then his retardation makes him believe his own rationalization over time? I am curious how much of his asshole attitude does he believe to be genuinely in the right due to his autism. We know he was impersonating Kacey's fiance, that's clearly malicious. We know he was genuinely trying to meet demands for his amiibos at least in the beginning, so we know he was genuinely trying to do good even though he swindled many other payers later on. The line seems impossibly murky for some other things Chris has done. Did he really think macing someone in Game Stop would make Sega change Sonic back, or was he using it as an excuse to exert his usage of a "feminine" weapon?

I don't think Chris considers it possible for him to do something bad. In his mind, if he does a bad thing, he is automatically justified because his intentions are noble enough.

Has he justified leaving the scenes of his regular fender benders? His excuses always fascinate me. Was it just the same old "it's not my fault because it gave me stress?"
One time he hit someone, and in self defense he pointed out that the other driver was a smoker.

You can probably imagine similar justifications for other bad shit he does.

Almost all of it. Chris will use whatever logic he needs to justify his actions, and always puts his needs above everyone else's. He needed a sweetheart and hated Liquid, so stealing his fiance was justifiable. He got tired of making Amiibos but still wants the money so of course his clients/fans are going to understand.
But I'm pretty sure even Chris is not entirely immune to guilt. It just never lasts long, with time he'll convince himself that he was right and avoid stress by never thinking about it again.
In the Game Stop case, he probably was just pissed-off, wanted to make a dramatic exit and didn't even think it through before macing that guy. He probably felt a small bit of remorse about it later on, but then he convinced himself that he was the victim for some bullshit reason, and everything was right with his world again.

Most trolls of Chris started out as white knights, trying to help him. However, once they interacted with him they realized that he's Chris for a reason.
For example, one troll got Chris lined up with a job (fake but you get the point) where all he'd have to do is play vidya and review them. He not only was too lazy to do that, he was too lazy to tell the person he didn't want it.
