Containment Random Thoughts & Questions

Chris simped for the cutest girls in his vicinity his entire life, I don't think it was much more than that. The "Bob paid the gal pals to be friends with Chris" rumor took off and became gospel for whatever reason. The graduation party never should have happened with them, but I think they meant well.

Anna and Megan to a lesser degree did a lot more damage as vampires.
I think Anna was the bigger vampire by playing white knight whereas Megan called him out on his "Shoujo Beat" whining in email long after he bought for her the "Sailor Moon"/Nazi memorabilia

They only ever hanged out with Chris, at lunch, and apparently only on "even days". Odd days, Chris had to eat alone. So in all, his "best high school friends", Chris only saw maybe half the time during the week, and apparently only at lunch.
By that admission, it was only on Tuesday and Thursday. "Even days". Just going by a school week, Monday = 1, Wednesday = 3, Friday = 5.

It must be very heartbreaking to realize that the only people who you thought were your real friends only ever did what they did out of pity or bribery.

Will this story never die?
We more or less can confirm this as true, Chris in one of his logs somewhere confirmed that one day he was walking home from school one day in the late 98 I reckon during his senior year where he was speaking to Tiffany or one of his other Gal Pals and recalls as they were walking back from school with him he later then saw Bob or Barb giving them a whole bunch of cash clearly for hanging out with him. He recalls feeling very solemn later day and questioning all his past relationships with people. That pretty much proves it if Chris actually admitted to something unfortunate like that.

Either way like other people have said it doesn’t really matter since even if they were just cajoled by the principal he didn't benefit from them in any way and didn't keep in touch with them years after he left, It's even sadder since he apparently only saw him for a few hours a week and It didn't help him with any social issues he might have had. I do wonder what his conversations were like with them though, Im shocked he got girls like that to speak to him kindly considering what a different time the late 90s early 2000s really were and teens were far less tolerant to autists than they are today. I am shocked he wasn't more bullied back then.

I’ve been thinking about what Chris’s day to day life is like in a group home. I bet he’s making lots of friends, getting the help he needs, on his best behavior and generally loving life. So I made it into a comic.

This made my day. We can only hope this is happening.

BRING CHRISTINE HOME! NOW! NOW! NOW!

I don't imagine Chris is happy but it probably beats being in jail, even if they still can't get on twitter to tell us all about it.

There is sort of an awkward joy and blissful ignorance about the whole affair. It was the late 90s, the biggest thing any kid was worried about was pokémon the first movie or trading Holos.

Chris can be a little forgiven for being a weird nerd back then; most of it is of course what would happen after High School.

Bob did a few things right with Chris, but the longevity of his care should have been considered and Chris should have been placed in a group home with a part-time job.

But then that wouldn't be mainstreaming Chris and how could his parents collect half of his Tugboat.
An 18 year old being into Pokemon back then was strange.
He was unwilling or unable to grow up.

You have a point. Most 18 year olds now are just getting into college and working to secure a better life for themselves. You can thank their parents for that. Chris at 18: you can thank his parents for that.

People seem to forget how badly Chris gets on with people in the best of times. What makes you think he'll be in this situation, he's going to complain like this until they either forcibly drug him or boot him the fuck out, then he's homeless and it's anyones guess what happens to him then.

Megan isn't perfect case in point the Nazi fetish and using Chris as her personal credit card. But at least she cut out the credit card shit by the time their friendship ended.

Megan called him out on his "Shoujo Beat" whining
The Shoujo Beats episode is one of the strangest parts of Christory to me.

He wrote into a comic magazine for tween girls, saying "I'll be a lonely 27 year old autistic virgin with rage if my parents die!" and the editors saw that and said "Yeah, we'll run that right next to some 9 year old girl's review of Hamtaro"

And the advice giver called him out then Megan called him out in email.

When it was a national publication.

Can Chris actually tell when he’s with someone at his level of retardation?

“Only loser nerds like pokemon” Pokemon is and was a huge deal for kids and adults. Don’t ask me why, but it makes a lot of money.

you can't deny it did shape Chris's view on relationships.
To the extent some people think it did?

last time when he was with a group of other people, Chris was in his green seaweed/psycho psychic phase, where he was talking about his rocks.
Before the Idea Guys, Chris was socializing with other nerds. They went to movies together and hung out at (iirc) a gaming location. Everything about it is boring, which is why we don’t remember it as easily as the times Chris acted a fool.

You look at those pictures of his 18th & you realise he had a complete lack of social awareness
He would have been just as bad if he didn’t have girls to eat lunch with twice a week. If not worse.

Until the gal-pals found out how Chris turned out decades after graduation.
Was that real or was it a troll?

he later then saw Bob or Barb giving them a whole bunch of cash clearly for hanging out with him
He saw Bob pay a single girl to walk with him to the bus. If he paid anyone else, it’s not on the wiki.

it probably beats being in jail
In jail he had his own space and could buy junk food. I’m not so sure he wouldn’t prefer it.
