Just to add on to what

1. I'd imagine it's partly genetic but mostly upbringing. Chris obviously has autism and below-average intelligence. That said, he's not at the point mentally that he should be unable to function in society. The coddling from his parents has led to him avoiding stress and adversity at all costs, which leads to him being like he is. I mean, the guy is 35 and is too chicken shit to send a message to a woman on a dating site because of fear of rejection (and trolls, but mainly rejection).
2. Chris went to therapy, but from what I have read, it was not real therapy and was more coddling support group kind of shit. Real therapy, that led to them breaking him down, would possibly work but who knows? It would take a while and he would never willingly do it, so...
3. I think it's mainly that TV has led him to believe that women are shy and just stay at home and watch tv all day. He wants a fuckmommy that will go to work, do dishes, cook, clean, etc..., and TV has taught him that a housewife can stay at home while his spouse works. He's also a lazy, coddled manchild who does not want to deal with adversity. Being a woman, in Chris's TV-educated eyes, is less likely to deal with adversity because his wife would be the one dealing with the stress of a job while he just sits at home and plays vidya. So, it's a combination of Chris being a coddled, sexist manchild and the autism.
