Do you think Chris ever tries or tried to hit on the girls who like his Facebook statuses and comments left on said statuses?
 
Did Chris really stop making comics because of trolls, or was he bored with it anyway and just used trolls as an excuse?
 
Here's one. Does Chris still think about the people who have caused him stress?

To Chris, the act of creation means nothing unless the fruits of labor blossom into millions of dollars in franchising deals. Six years of comics, plus Chris's exponentially increasing impatience, would definitely stop him.

A combination of factors, I think. Chris thought Sonichu was his ticket to fame and fortune for minimal effort, and for quite a long time the trolls served to reinforce that. Drawing it was a half-arsed effort and writing it was simply a question of him putting his childish fantasies on paper. But then people started calling him out for falling behind schedule, violating copyright, offensive content and so forth. Chris discovered that being a successful comic artist wasn't just going to be millions of fans lining up to throw money at him and suck his duck, it was in fact a job. In fact, I believe he posted a rant somewhere expressing this very sentiment.

So yeah, the trolls were the catalyst, but they caused him to lose interest by demanding that he hold himself to the same standards as any other professional comic artist.
 
Quite a few people have suggested that Chris' best chance of fame and fortune would be as an outsider artist, on the grounds that his art is unique and he himself is a whole parcel of social and psychological issues. Given that he's supposedly desperate for money and that he's now willing to sell his artwork, do you think he'd be up for marketing himself in that way?

People've been through this many and many times. This won't happen. Chris has no sense of irony or the ability to make fun of himself (well, he makes an ass of himself all the time but you know what I mean) to even recognize himself as a topic of interesting psycholanalyses, and no sense of introspection. When he sells his art on eBay, he thinks people buy it because he's the talented famous artist he thinks he is.

Why is Chris so obsessed with using "stay safe" and "have a nice day" (and variants of them), even at the end of angry messages?

To be fair, he wasn't a professional comic book artist. Until the eBay saga, noone ever paid him for anything Sonichu related. I don't really judge him that harshly for resenting people who were "angry" with him for not writing comics faster.

But other than that I agree with you. I think his dreams about creating a successful franchise were long-term and fairly pie-in-the-sky. He liked playing with Sonichu and CWCville. Legos, drawings, daydreaming, etc. At some point he decided to post the drawings online. I don't think he really thought he was launching a franchise at that point, since he was very surprised by having fans. He just posted them online because making websites was another "creative hobby" he had. He might have thought it was a good way of shwoing his comics to people he met. The trolling and "fandase" were unexpected. At first he thought the trolling was bad and the fandase was good, but over time he started to realize he couldn't really have one without the other, so he didn't really want either.

There's still the atsimu and tard logic to contend with. A Normal person could have made Sonichu and put it online, terrible as it was, and attracted attention. But, if they were just using it as a form of fantasy fulfillment, they'd have said "Sorry, I do this for me. I'm writing what I want, when I want."

On some level, Chris did aspire to be a comic/game designer... But I think that level was just him wanting to play. He was dead serious about the prospect IN THE MOMENT, but when it was time to go to bed, Chris wanted to forget his "comic empire" and move on to something else. It's no differnt than a little girl playing "house" with a doll-- she's totally focused on the fantasy at the time, but there's no reason to assume that being a mother and home maker is he life ambition. To her, it's a game. With Chris, the only difference is he did this at an age where people are expected to seperate fantasy from reality better.

We get confused because we don't understand how Chris expects to be famous while not being willing to work at it. Chris, on the other hand, doesn't understand why we don't get that that game is over an he's moved on to something else.

Back when Chris was living alone with Bob while attending school, he used to cook meals for Chris pretty often, and apparently went out of his way to make him try new things. This however changed when Bob got older either because he couldn't reach the kitchen as a result of the hoard, or he just gave up on cooking.

Barb also used to cook pretty often but that stopped because one day she made spaghetti but nobody would eat it because everyone else already ate. So she did the adult thing and threw a massive fit and refused to cook anymore from that day on.

It's unbelievable that the refusal to cook has lasted 14 years, as seems to be the consensus. I can easily see that Bob and Chris could have been rude and hurtful. And I could see how that could have bothered and hurt Barb. And I could how she might have said "Ok, cook for yourselves then", and not done any cooking for a week or two. But the idea that one fight over spaghetti could last 14 years is mindblowing to me.
