Well my autistic thread was deleted so I'll ask an abbreviated version here. What happened to the 100K-200K Barb sucked out of the house after Bob's death? Within a few years of this she was personally making a begging video so the power won't be shut off. She has no possessions that show any evidence of that kind of cash, in vids months apart she is wearing the same damn shirt! Marvin has repeatedly said Barb was in the drivers seat at this time, and Chris was at her mercy so I doubt Chris blew it on toys or whatever.

Did Barb get scammed by a Nigerian bank scammer or something?

He was paid that much, and they pled guilty anyway? Thats INSANE, I'm not using the word lightly. Rob Bell sure found a sucker. They could have easily found a lawyer who would have handled it for under 10K, this wasn't first degree murder.

I see at a dubious source Synder filed civil suits against them both, which the outcome is unknown. I'm wondering if they agreed to a monetary settlement.

I mean even without the house equity their financial situation still makes no sense, I'm wondering if Marvin or someone has bothered to try getting Chris to make a budget.

Marvin's established many times that Chris does budget.

He'll pay off his bills (including the bare minimum on credit) on time because he can grasp that there will be serious consequences if he doesn't. When Chris is e-begging, it's not because he's struggling, it's because he wants more money to buy useless plastic tat.

Just read the end of the Anna's Gambit thread and saw my long running questions were discussed yesterday, heh there are just too many threads to keep up on.

Why doesn't Chris file bankruptcy? Nothing is in his name so he'd lose nothing, but he would wipe out those credit cards likely charged to the limit so they are useless to him anyway.

Pride would be my guess. Plus bankruptcy isn't a clean slate to start spending again, don't the courts monitor your spending for a few years to ensure you're not pulling a fast one?

It depends on each state's laws, the states I am familiar with they do look for obvious scams(running up a card to the limit a week before filing etc) before filing not after. You also get exemptions like your homestead and a single car that cannot be touched or considered, if you have enough assets the judge can order payments to settlements. But Chris has no assets or savings essentially, I'm assuming his disability can also not be touched, so he would just shed that debt. Sure it will hurt his credit rating, but he doesn't need credit cards.
