An open letter to Chris (that he more than likely will enver read):

Dear Chris:

If anyone blocks you on Twitter (or any other platform) that's it, that person made their decision of not wanting to communicate with you and that's final. Blocking/muting features exist on websites, social media and personal communication platforms for a reason, and that reason is to cut any further communication with a person if desired.

Whether you agree with this decision or not is irrelevant, you are supposed to respect it. You're not supposed to try and resume communication by any other medium (specially if that involves any third party), as that constitutes a sign of disrespect for said person and violates their (maybe justified) desires. Besides, it will probably achieve nothing but add "seeing you as a pushy creep who doesn't care about social norms" to whatever reason they had to block you in the first place, further feeding their desire not to associate with you in any form.

Yes, maybe you won't see the reason they had to do this. It'll likely seem unjustified from your perspective, but you should learn to leave those opinions aside and abide to their decision. They had a reason to do this and even if it was a petty one it was enough for them to push the button and cut it.

Also, it would be a good idea not to openly whine about said block, as that only feeds the general public's negative view of how you react to these situations, which may raise a red flag for those who, otherwise, might be willing to communicate with you.

I know it's an odd question, but some people are reporting that SNAP recipients (aka, food stamps) in some states were paid double this month because of the government shutdown. This isn't free money; it's next month's payment in advance.

I don't know if his tugboat is affected by this, but maybe someone more knowledgable than me might know?

Just because there's some confusion about this, I want to make it clear: if Chris got paid twice, it's because he received January *and* February's payments together, and if so, he won't be paid again until March. Given his utter inability to budget one can only assume that February is going to be a month of e-begging if this is the case.

Anyone have any idea?

Chris doesn't get SNAP.

His tugboat is from SSDI, aka Title II, and is unaffected by the shutdown. According to this:


"Funding for the programs under Titles II, XVI, and XVIII of the Social Security Act will continue, even in the event of a lapse in appropriations," the plan says.

A shutdown only affects funds annually appropriated by Congress, not funding that is sustained long-term. The Social Security trust fund is paid for through a combination of taxes and long-term investments.

Yeah, the Dept of Agriculture/Food and Nutrition required states to issue February SNAP benefits prior to January 18th or 22nd, I forget which off-hand. As of right now, they have no idea what will happen with March. The federal government releases funds for it on a monthly basis unlike the other welfare programs, so it's the only one currently affected.

I am sure this has been said before but I often wonder what he would be like if he had been put in proper classes and disciplined for his outrageous conduct. His father dying has caused a tail spin in improper behavior for sure.

His level of delusion is both facinating and heartbreaking to me. But the fact that he acts like a petulant child all of the time also causes me to have a lack sympathy. But still I wonder.

I'm sure it's been said before but I don't think appropriate classes would've fixed him into anything normal; his parents, both of them, just really dropped the ball. When he was younger if he was 'properly disciplined' in school which to be fair is never any harsher than what he's gotten he would have just gotten asspats from his parents. Hell I think there was something with the Greene County School board about them disciplining him or wanting to put him in special classes but his parents threw a shit fit over it if memory serves. He's just kind of the perfect storm to make a lolcow.

His in school behaviour while, not normal wasn't near the levels we see now as far as off-putting; he got way more weird in his post school years. And by weird I mean in a way people will care enough to do something about.

For me, I think it's because he acts like a child that I don't lose sympathy. His brain is really fucked, his upbringing reinforced that, and now he can't do anything about it. Him acting out is symptomatic of that, rather than necessarily indicative of malice. I don't mean to imply that there's never ill intention, but most of the time it's Chris being a fucking idiot.

Sure. It's not like his attempts to garner sympathy are subtle. Chris is gross, and mentally ill, and often a bad person, and not my problem, but I still feel bad that his brain is fucked up.
