I've been re-watching some of the videos and they reminded me of another thing I've wondered about and that is there are a lot of jump cuts in Chris's videos. Also there are often times where he looks to me like he is about to cry. His facial expressions and body language are all... off, it seems, so I may be misreading it. Just wondering if anyone else had noticed these moments where he looks like he's about to lose it and burst into tears and if that is perhaps one of the reasons there are so many jump cuts in his videos?

Chris does not emote very well. I've noticed in his childhood pictures he exhibits a common "deer in headlights" kind of look that I've seen on a number of other autistic children. "Default" mouth expression, which can sometimes look upset, and "sad" eyebrows positioned close to / \ (bad ASCII interpretation, but the opposite of angry ones which would be \ / ). As he got older this blank slate was slowly augmented with facial expressions Chris believed were correct but still not quite. In his high school pics he has those goofy smiles, and in that recent Facebook picture he's trying too hard in making a frowny face. Both look silly because they're unnatural exaggerations of those emotions.

During his videos I noticed Chris occasionally will focus his attention outside of his facial expressions resulting in ones that look a bit downtrodden or sad. I don't think he's actually on the verge of tears, though. Then again, I've never heard Chris cry (and I kind of don't want to).

As for why his videos are choppy, he uses the PS EyeToy which I assume has "off" and "on" capabilities that start/stop with the press of a button. He might be doing multiple takes of certain videos, or he might just be stopping the recording so he can figure out what he wants to discuss next. His videos are edited entirely through the EyeToy app, I believe.

All good insight, thanks. Yeah, his eyebrows make me laugh for some reason. Not trying to be mean it's just... he will be talking about something and it seems at random times his eyebrows will raise and he looks like he's really surprised about something. And sometimes it looks like he's doing the Spock one raised eyebrow look.

That Eyetoy took all the fury that an autistic virgin with rage could throw at it. It's a wonder it lasted as long as it did.

The only difference between Chris handling a call and Chris going "wait, what?" was the complexity of the ideas. Not sound/noise or anything like that. Nothing sensory.
I love that one call where Alec accuses Chris of trolling. His brain seems to shut down and he immediately ends the call. :D Good times.

I think you're thinking of Alec calls 5 and 7

Here's the snippet from 5 (aka the infamous Chris pretends to be :snorlax: call)
Chris: I am not a bully!
Alec: Oh, oh no, no, of course not. Hacking into my computer, breaking into my house... Bullies don't do that, do they? [Chris tries to get in a word edgewise, but fails] I guess technically that's true, bullies don't do that, hardened criminals do things like that. Which is, you know, worse than a bully. You are a troll, though. That's for certain.
Chris: I am not a troll!
Alec: Oh, bullshit. Bullshit.
Chris: Although I did... Although I will apologize...
Alec: Ever since Asperchu appeared you've being doing nothing but trying to shut me down. Just like the trolls that try to shut you down.
Chris: [Mumbles something]
Alec: But you know, but the great Christian Weston Chandler, he's perfect, you know. Nobody can... Can attack him or parody him, but if someone else does something that he doesn't like, doesn't matter if it has nothing to do with him... There's gonna be hell to pay. You wanna hack my website, hack my X-Box account, steal some dating game I don't even have... I don't need, you know, dating sims by the way... And destroy my console. That's not the work of a bully or a troll at all, is it?
Chris: I-I said that the idea was in my head, I never said I would actually to do it.
Alec: Your idea was in your comic, you put it out there for everyone to read. It-it wasn't just in your head. And hey, I thought, I thought that, uh, comics were real. Comics are just as real as real people, right? So, if you draw it on paper, then it must be the same thing as wanting to actually act on it in real life, right? Isn't that how that works? You made all of your characters slander me.
Chris: Uh, excuse me a moment. Yes? [Chris walks away from the phone and does a horrible impression of his mother] Hey! Hey Christian, listen. I need you to go clean up kitty's poo in the kitchen. Oh, okay mom, I'll take care of it. And let the kitty out, would ya? Sure, I'll be right out there. [Chris comes back to the phone] Uh, yeah, my mom's telling me I've gotta go clean up kitty's poo, I've gotta go, so uh... Is there a number I can call you back at? So I can talk to you later?

And 7 (At least Alec tried!)
Chris: I do care about my comic, it's just I have, it's just I use that, it's actually between drawing, drawing page, between drawing and coloring.
Alec: But you could use that video game time to upload them. And you never did that.
Chris: Oh yes I do!
Alec: How many days have you missed since you promised you would upload two pages a day? You don't care. Your actions say that you don't care. Actions speak louder than words, Chris. I don't even consider you competition anymore, do you know that? Because you, you obviously, my competition are artists who actually care about their work, and you play video games all day. And then you sleep in, because you have nothing to do. And then you, when you do actually take time to do something, you don't actually work on your comic, you just attack me. And then when I'm nice to you, you continue to attack me. And then when I get mad and yell at you, you back down right away, because you can't stand up in a fight. And then when I'm nice again, because I think to myself, "I don't wanna keep yelling, because I'm not that kind of person," then you become disrespectful again. Do you have anything to say, Chris?
[total silence]
Alec: He hung up.

He's pretty damn funny I'll give him that. But also really aggressive with Chris to the point he seems like he's being kind of rude to Chris. In contrast with the Alec calls where Alec was extremely patient with him and polite it seemed.
Well that's my point. Back then, when we didn't know as much about Chris, we tried to be coercive with Chris. We tried to be nice. And it didn't do shit. Chris never will yield to someone else out of his own free will. Everyone but him are just pieces on the board of life that he does his best to manipulate to benefit himself. That's kinda how little kids think, except we all eventually grow up and learn to consider other people's perspectives, not just how they relate to our situations.

Jack Thaddeus went straight to the point and was rude and forceful with Chris. I mean, we later learned that without some leverage over Chris, that still wouldn't work. But it was a lot more effective than anything thus far. Chris will lie and bullshit and do whatever he needs to, so just get straight to the point: "You could be healthier? Okay, yeah... you could be healthier if your fuckin' blood wasn't made of gravy."

Basically what I'm saying is that beating around the bush won't help.

Anyway something interesting I remember the psychologist telling me during a meeting was she said that most autistics are actually average to above average intelligence. The autism just... well makes things hard for them. But I'm wondering if Chris is an exception to this rule. Is he actually both just plain stupid and autistic?
Uhh, well, you can get into debates about what intelligence is and stuff like that. I would say that for properly raised autistics, they probably are intelligent, but just in different ways from normal people. I would say intelligence is quickness of thinking, plus just general knowledge, I guess.

Chris thinks slowly and that's why I talk a lot about how dumb he is. I don't know how autism relates to that, but whatever the cause, I still consider him dumb. When talking to him, it's very easy to introduce too many ideas at once or too many complex ideas. Y'know, his stereotypical "wait, what?" His brain seems to almost clog up really easily.

And even for the stuff that autistics usually are good at, things with patterns, stuff like that, with Chris, I think he's just interested in it a lot. You could probably devise some of Chris' interests that would still clog up his thinking. It's probably just because his interests are simple that he's able to handle them as well as he does.

Also, autism can hinder the ability to think abstractly, so maybe the brain compensates by doing what it can do, that is, very linear, deductive reasoning. That's why you see folks with Asperger's disproportionately good at computation. But I think Chris is at best average in this area, maybe a little bit above average. Like when Kacey's father asked him to calculate a tip on a restaurant bill he was able to do it in his head and fairly quickly and knew to use 15%. Or maybe it just stands out because he's so dumb about everything else.

Another problem is his innate incuriosity about the world in general, which reduces his general knowledge. Like he focuses on [cwc]vidya[/cwc] and Pokemon and porn but refuses to pay attention to the news. This may be related to what you say: that his brain would get clogged pretty quickly trying to understand current events with relatively complex interconnecting parts, so he doesn't even bother. Or, again, it may just be because he's intellectually lazy and would require more effort than he's willing to put into it, and also he avoids bad news [cwc]stress[/cwc] at all costs.

Here is another random question. How tall was Bob? If Chris is 5'10" then Bob must have been tiny.

He was 80-something the first time we saw him on video, so part of that may have been caused by old-age shrinking.

I remember seeing this in one of the threads, the pokemon updates I think. Did Chris really sell one of his dogs? Please don't annoy me about the accent on the e.

Welp, found out where Chris came up with the "mashed potato grenade." It's in the Simpsons: Tapped Out game.

Mystery solved. Goddammit, Chris.

I'm actually still wondering why my idea that Chris would be forever a Virgin With Rage met with so much resistance regardless of whether or not he is a virgin. He's still a Virgin With Rage simply because he chose to rage so hard about being a Virgin. The anger and entitlement is still there.

So what is the issue?

Chris feels he is entitled to sex. He will never be entitled to sex. He rages. Therefore he meets his own definition of a Virgin With Rage.

Maybe Marvin can help me since no one else even bothers.

crazy pacer I like your posts usually so please know my heart is in the right place when I say you're spergin about whatever you're spergin about, and should move on

AFAIK, the definition of a virgin is not a sexually frustrated person, but someone who has not had sex at all. But I'm all up for continuing to call him a virgin with rage, because it is a hilarious term, and I can see it pissing him off.

Maybe someday "I am not gay!" will be replaced by "I am not a virgin!"
