With the new content about the date and Chris pointing out that he hasn't always lived with his parents since he once went to a Anime Convention it got me thinking.
I might be wrong, but is it possible Chris has only had 4 instances of not sleeping 'at home' (ie: either BC 14 or the rental)?
1) That anime convention
2) Being jailed the first time
3) Crashing (into slumber no doubt) at some neighbors house after the fire
4) Being jailed again
And that is over a timespan of 10 (!) years.
It's just... damn. It's small things like this that I never really give much attention to, but when I do, I realize just how tiny his world is.
A mere sleepover would be a major thing in Chris life.

There's also the California trip. Surprisingly, he didn't sleep at all during the whole Ohio adventure.

They also were put up in a hotel between 14 BLC and the rental. And there were the various homes that Chris lived in with Bob so he could go to school in Chesterfield County. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a couple childhood trips that were uneventful and are lost to history. But I wouldn't be shocked if there weren't either.
The Anime conference is the only time that I can think of where Chris voluntarily spent the night apart from both of his parents. That's probably why he associated it with moving away from home,

Come to think of it, he also got a hotel room for his hooker encounter. I wonder if he stayed the night or just handed back the keys precisely 61 minutes after checking in.

Well, he did 'move away' from home. It's just not what people mean when they say it.
The Hotelroom was hers, not his. Apparently she's staying there for a few days while taking on ... uh... patrons (?) and then moves on.

Up until the court date in early February, Chris was making public posts about various things on the regular. Since then we have had radio silence.
The difference seems so pronounced that it would be a remarkable coincidence. Is it possible his lawyer or someone else persuaded him to shut his piehole? Or maybe even it came up in conversation with Barb? Or maybe the whole experience freaked him out a little?

Wild speculation here, but I think it's more humiliating than Chris wising up... Barb may have confiscated his iPhone and only lets him have it while he's out running errands.

Optimistic but possible. As much as people like to shit on PDs, they do want to do well by their clients, even if their time and resources to devote to any individual client are very limited. If Chris met his PD at that hearing and the guy listened to him for even a minute, he could probably tell Chris was doing dumb shit to fuck up his case. Maybe a simple "Look, if you don't get your shit together, odds are good you're facing a few months in jail. Just shut up until April. No Internet posts. No nothing."
Maybe it stuck.
But also remember, Chris has had periods of silence in the past, usually without any particular reason for it.
I'd like to think otherwise, but the idea of Chris actually taking good advice is optimistic.
