As I arrived at the Chandler Residence, I noticed an odd discoloration in the paneling. Looking over the dilapidated structure, I swallowed my concerns and exited my vehicle. As I approached the doorstep, I was met with a familiar smell that danced within my nostrils like a 6 day old, sun dried roadkill. Again, I pushed forward, brushing off my red flags. 'I must see,' I thought, 'I must see if the legends be true.' The sound of my knocks echoed through what seemed like another dimension as the door slowly creaked open. The smell pressed harder as it was allowed to escape its fermented capsule like a ripe can of surströmming. Delicious.
There, standing in front of me was a tall, towering shadow. My heart raced, my speech fleeting, and my brow moist. Then, as the sun blessed my eyes with the brightness of oily skin and greasy hair, was the one, and only. Sonichu creator. I choked my words out, looking up to the mighty deity, I introduced myself. Explaining that I wanted to come and meet the legend. View the collection. And just all around, stand in the very place my beloved Sonichu was created. Stepping inside I was cemented in the stench, awestruck by the piles of clothing, and most of all. Greeted by the woman herself, Barb. After brief conversation, I was walked into the room where all the magic happened. Astounded by the amount of collectibles and sheer memorabilia, I wanted to stay forever. The musk annihilated my sensory glands. In the corner, I spotted a few plastic cups, bringing a smirk to my lips. He showed me multiple original printings of the beloved characters comics. Even my personal favorite, #8, the spring break edition. After hours of conversing I had to depart from the holy site. Teary eyed, I said my goodbye's and thanked him for his service. Walking to my car I felt remorse, dread, and absolute depression. I should have stayed, should have asked for a souvenir. But no, it was too late. My eyes lingered on the door shutting, giving me one last glimpse of the promised land. And as the door came to a close, I broke down in sobs in my car.
Shine on Chris Chan, and stay Cwc.
