Off-Topic Random Trans Thoughts, Musings, and Questions - For all your armchair psych and general sperging

I had a thought the other day: MtF troons make a big deal over it (supposedly) not being gay for a straight man to have sex with them, even AGPs who are attracted to women. Contrapoints made a whole video about it. But...isn't that throwing gay men under the bus? Being perceived as gay is one of the worst fears of a lot of straight dudes, meanwhile the troons are over here claiming "No no no, you don't have to worry about being gay even if you suck my girldick."

Like, this isn't on the same level as lesbians being pressured to date/fuck troons, but still scummy.

That particular behavior of troons mostly hurts faggots who are otherwise normal, sane, productive, functioning members of society. Not exactly going on a martyr mission for them, but it's definitely undeserved. Trannies don't even care about their 'adjacent' community members though. The lesbian issue is an entirely different beast that people need to be flensed for.

Has he done any lolcow behavior or just switched names and at the same lolcalf behavior?
Not so far as I know, I just watched his content from early on and noticed the shift happen after he caught a bunch of flak from troons on tumblr in particular. Pining after an Asian woman manic pixie dream girl genius was very much an online aughts vibe that Scott Pilgrim vs. The World embodied. Pretty cringe in retrospective but he didn't really have a response to woke backlash besides ducking out of the lime light and reinventing himself as Senna. So he passes the sniff test for tumblr but you can literally tell when the meagre writing in the webcomic got more sidetracked to somehow shove in more tits and ass while obsessing over lesbians.
So yeah, no lolcow type hits yet but I think its just a matter of time or success putting him on the map.

But...isn't that throwing gay men under the bus?
That's what they've been doing ever since "LGB" became vestigial.

Man, back in my day we just admitted we were bi instead of doing all these mental gymnastics. Then again, that was when feminine guys and masculine women didn't call themselves otherwise.

When Light Yagami kills a troon with the death note does he use their preferred name or does he have to find their birth name? I figure it's the latter, putting the "dead" in "deadname."
I just had another thought. When I was a teenager I loved the Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud, the central premise of it is that there is a world controlled by wizards, and the wizards gain power by summoning and controlling demons. The thing is they can only keep control of the demons so long as the demon never learns their "real" name, so to keep this from happening children are adopted into wizard families at age 6, and they take new names so their real birth names will be forgotten and cannot be used against them. The main character ends up summoning a demon who learns his real name, so the two of them end up with a relationship that is closer to being a partnership rather than the typical master and slave relationship. In the final act of the last book he drops the fake wizard persona he adopted and starts using his real name again, so that when he dies saving the world he dies as himself.

What I'm saying is this book is a trans allegory. The fake wizard identity the main character assumes is essentially a form of transitioning. And the ultimate moral of the story is that he needed to stop pretending to be something that he isn't and embrace the true identity that he was born into. And the demon Bartimaeus was the only being that he was capable of being friends with, because he was the only person who could see the "real" version of him that he hid under his fake wizard persona. Because you can't form a real connection with someone who is hiding behind a mask and pretending to be something they are not.

🤔
Tumblr gets philosophical. Also I have no idea what thread to put this in. The "comment on Ovarit" in question is actually this tweet thread btw: https://archive.md/GfWN9
at least that's what I'm assuming is being referenced
The closest thing I can think of is pediatric bipolar.

Back around 2008, the fad diagnosis for kids who were misbehaving was pediatric bipolar, never mind that it was ridiculously rare prior to the fad. Everyone wanted this diagnosis, it jumped like 4000% in a couple of years, and kids got out on massive doses of drugs that they did not fully understand, with disastrous results. The doctors who promoted this diagnosis were taking a few million from the drug companies. There was no apology or reckoning from the field of psychiatry for this fad. Even the guy who revised the DSM called it a fad. Also here.
"No other marginalised group loses their cool this much not having their identity recognised. other group goes out of their way to police language that way the trans community does."
There's another group that get quite close to troons when it comes to throwing a shitfit when not having their identity recognised, although troons are still taking the cake for being the worst. It's the autism/neurodiversity movement.

They are extremely hostile to the idea that autism could be misdiagnosed or overdiagnosed too - which is quite similar to the way troons react to detransitioners. Autism activists have rigid and cult-like ideas of what normal people act like, for example, if you have ever been bullied or felt insecure, you're autistic, and they think that 'neurotypicals' are all charming but heartless hive mind. I don't see the same thing with other mental diagnoses.

Unlike transgenderism, the 'detransitioners' of autism, the misdiagnosed ones, are mor similar to olden days lobotomy patients because they never asked for it. They had it placed on them usually by munchie parents, so they tend to be more 'low-key' as adults rather than making twitter posts for clout. However, every time a misdiagnosed person speaks out, they're bridaged to hell by autism activists. E.g. Benjamin Nugent, and this Tiktok woman

Maybe it's the connection between troonism and autism - the kind of personality that makes someone obsessed with categories and unable to understand nuances - resulting in those internet cults. (although I don't think high functioning autism is really a 'thing' - it's just a descriptor that has become useless.)

This is a comment I found on Lipstick Alley, it's a surprisingly common sentiment that seems to be nonexistent on the mainstream internet.

Medicalization is often the path of least resistance. It's far easier to just take pills or dump your kid in front of a screen than to actively make sure they're getting adequate socialization. And yes, the social reward of having a "disability" or "disability-by-proxy" is very real too. Everyone wants to feel good, but nobody wants to get better.

Is it okay if I just keep posting tumblr takes I find interesting here? Tumblr is full of morons, but there are still good takes there sometimes.
Please do!

I imagine that for some people, it's probably refreshing to see these sorts of takes from a website that's mostly associated with being at the beginning of pushing this nonsense on kids back in the 20teens.

Even (parts of) the snowflake Hellsite can recognize how fucked this all is.

It was infected with the troon mind virus years before mainstream society was. So it kind of makes sense that it's one of the places people are peaking the hardest. These people have been dealing with trannies for years, so they have far more insight into how fucked up they are than just about anyone.

It is a bunch of people thinking thoughts about trans people, so definitely. This is the grabbag thread, where we contempate our navels and amholes & ask questions we may or may not be late on. And shitpost and bitch, of course.

I went through this phase too. A lot of detransitioners and gender criticals get stuck there. Thing is, there is no falsifiable difference between the true and honest transsexuals and the mean and horrid transtrenders. Other than that one group says "trust me bro, I'm one of the good ones." Maybe that they are also willing to acknowledge the reality of biological sex, but Jesus that is a low bar to clear. If you're crazy enough to spare 90 minutes on a youtube video this detransitioner does a pretty good job of debunking the "trutrans" myth.

I've always said this before if true trans was a real thing then doctors would clearly use brain scans to prove their patients are actually "man trapped inside woman's body and vice versa."TRAs keep insisting that neurology backs them up and keep linking to studies that trans people's brains match the gender they identify with.Ok if that's true then lets see your MRI test results then.Hell if brain scans proved it then don't you think there would be tons of trans people on reddit who would be making posts about how they got their MRI test results back that proved they have a lady brain? It'd be checkmate to transphobes! Instead all we see on there are stories from them about why they think they're trans.Whether its playing with their sister's dolls or just hating their bodies. Its never a brain scan.

If you could copy/paste the test from the image, maybe under a spoiler, it'd make it easier to search for it later. Optional suggestion, but it'd be helpful.

I have difficulty navigating professional environments with them. Working in service, I tend to default to addressing people by sir or ma'am, If I am unsure, I simply do not use either, but try to keep the same professional tone. They tend to be very noticeable, especially over the summer when they lacked layers to hide their skeletons. I I have had a few instances of people being noticeably bothered by the lack of gendered recognition. I know I have accidentally misgendered a few when checking ID and I return to using formal gendered address. I feel though it would be on them to have their ID properly reflect what they want to be addressed as. Nobody has yet to speak up to it though,

I strive to treat all my clients equally and provide a good experience. However I am split in that both asking for pronouns and not using a address both single them out. I have not yet encountered anyone wearing a pronoun pin professionally. I try not to profile my clients, but noticing trends is inevitable and I have had more negative experiences with some groups than others. I feel myself having to fight myself sometimes, and retain the same demeanor for everyone, but it can be hard.

Has there been much discussion on the older generation of liberals who just accept gender ideology without question? I've come across several who either get exposed to it through their kids trooning out and go the route of unconditional support and affirmation, or are going along with it because they believe everything their political party of choice says and have bought into the ridiculous notion that not letting kids take puberty blockers or refusing to call a 6 foot tall ogre in a dress "ma'am" is just as bad as committing a murder. Or they're academics who studied queer theory decades before putting pronouns in your social media bio became popular.

It seems odd at first that people around my parents' age would be so keen on an idea that's mostly popular among the generations that have been on the internet basically their whole lives, but then again, it had to come from somewhere.

Progressives have spent the last few decades campaigning for the liberation of certain groups of people: first it was women, then blacks, and most recently the LGB community. Now, with the legalisation of same-sex marriage in the West, old liberals are looking for the next big thing to support.

Transgenderism markets itself as some sort of Gay Rights Plus, which appeals to these people, whether they're too out of touch to realise the differences between the two movements, or don't care about which ideology they support as much as maintaining their progressive cred with the younger generations. Either way, they push for trans rights just like they did with every other cause that came before, and it's this long-standing belief that "progress always = good" which leads them to unconditionally support TRA nonsense. Keep in mind it's this older generation that invented many of the concepts trans activists use today (e.g. intersectionality).

I'd argue that opposing transgenderism is the real progressive stance since it leads to the enforcement of regressive gender roles and overwhelmingly targets young homosexuals. But what do I know.

I'm going to say that seeing all the autistic people who are trans has made me start being a self hating autistic person. Its just how can these people not understand sexist stereotypes and/or being GNC even when it was for one time?I've said before about how i'm kinda still in the south park fandom and noticed a lot of TIFs obsessed with the show. One in particular is autistic and is so convinced that Kenny is not cis because of the one time he cross dressed as a princess. She even gets into arguments with people about it and admits to blocking anyone who corrects her that kenny is cis.She doesn't understand roleplaying and being GNC.She literally thinks if any boy does something that is feminine that they're no longer a boy.Its the same with Butters and him getting bullied into dressing up as a girl.He mostly hated it, but she and a few other TIFs think that because he started to enjoy dancing with the girls that suddenly means he secret wants to be one.Like how is it that an autistic person like me can understand that this doesn't change anything about a person?Hell i played with my sister's dolls one time and never thought much about gender.Yet these people's psychological disorder has really screwed them up that they have trouble understanding something so basic.Sorry if i'm ranting a bit, its just frustrating that these people dont understand what being GNC or doing anything that isn't related to your birth sex means.
The South Park thing is particularly hilarious, because in The Stick Of Truth (good game, and I'm not a big gamer at all - but I am a South Park simp to an extent) Cartman SAYS to Kenny something like "Ok, Kenny, we ALL want to play the princess sometimes, but. . . " because THAT is a totally normal thing for kids to do. Girls "play" boy roles all the time when doing make-believe, but suddenly the boy does it and it's because he's a teeny tranny.

Do they say Wendy is a boy because she dresses up like a boy to be part of the boy band "Fingerbang"? Ugh, they probably do.

And fuck off from my boy, Butters, tranny weirdos. He's just a little bi-curious.

You made me remember one of my most annoying Tranny interactions. I worked a temp seasonal retail gig a while back at a major retail chain and one of my coworkers was a tranny. Mostly he didn't bother me because he was actually a hard worker and I can respect that even if I didn't respect his pronouns behind the scenes. Anyway we were cool albeit not chummy and then one day he started complaining to me about how [the large retailer] was already stocking bikinis in January. Apparently it made him anxious about his bikini-body earlier than he had wanted and felt it was just toxic for "us girls."

Luckily the gig ended soon thereafter but what a turd human.

As you noted, a lot have tranny or pooner kids now. I know one couple in particular who are very active in the local SJW activist scene, and are in their mid 60s. They had a son and daughter. Now they have a "daughter" and a non-binary child who changed her name to an herb.
