I... really haven't had this problem?

At one of my old jobs, one of my black co-workers, who was known for being very polite, came to me with concern when my youngest sister (who is white) came in and apparently "acted rude" to her, and I had to apologize and explain that my sister wasn't being rude, that's just the way she talks. When I confronted my sister about it, she had no idea how she acted could possibly come across as rude.

IDK, some people just come off as rude without meaning to and if you're working in customer service, it's very easy to sound rude because customer service is terrible.

It's true at that job. Apparently there's a problem every day with multiple people doing this to the customers. Maybe I should have said that it's true at this job because it's not a rare thing. At that place, any way.
Then again- I remember this company had a history of hiring really rude people for the job and I'd hear horror stories about coworkers before the place moved.

Okay, here's a picture I found on my dash:

Okay, I understand kids not getting a lunch sucks, but to boil it down to just "Republicans hate children" is such an asinine concept. Am I gonna act like people aren't stupid and cruel and want children to suffer? No. But it's more complicated than it sounds.

:powerlevel:I worked as a part of a council when I was in high school. We got to talk to the CEO of a provider for our school lunches about the prices they provided and this issue was brought up:powerlevel: I guarantee you these people do not want children to go hungry, but they still need to make money to sustain themselves as a business. If people don't pay for their lunch, they see it as loosing money and what happens then? They stop providing the lunch for the school. And then no one gets to eat.

I can understand the frustrations when it comes to the school lunch system. Half of the time the lunches aren't even that good and sometimes it's the only thing people have to eat that day (I sadly knew a few people in that position), but once again these people boil it down to "this side is evil and I'm completely right". People should be celebrating that people want to pay for lunch debt considering that at some schools, you can't even GRADUATE unless you pay off all your debts.

Once again, lunch debts suck. But for how things are now, it's not going to magically go away.

It’s always nice to see Tumblr supporting forcible slavery.

Shit. I didn't even think about it that way. If the company isn't making money, then obviously they want it for free, right? But what about the workers who provide the lunch? They still need to get paid. These lunch companies aren't government funded. They need to get the resources from somewhere. And all of this costs money.

It's really just hypocritical in the end. Fine, you don't want children to starve, but that food has to be paid for somehow.

Communists always forget to account for human nature. If their assumptions are true then the hippie commune restaurants that have no prices and it only costs what you want to pay wouldn’t go out of business so fast it’s hilarious.

I like how they assume that schools can magically give food to students and not go through the money loss that would come with this. Especially schools that don't have as much funds.

I really want to hear his neighbors' side of the story. Especially because of this:

Anti-psychotics are, indeed, powerful drugs that have really shitty side effects, which is why a lot of people stop taking them, but...I'm getting the feeling that he is actually psychotic. Autistic people might be paranoid due to their inability to comprehend social norms, but this guy is on a different level. I feel bad for everyone involved.

He spells panic as 'panick'. This isn't the 18th century, don't do that.

I believe I posted that first image over here.

Also, do we know anything about pucciwoof? He’s either a member here or another autist (or both). Leaning toward member with an alt account, due to the lack of content on the blog.

Take your meds, my dude.

Everybody around you is worried.

We had free lunch in high school. You realize school districts have billion dollar budgets and food isn't that expensive compared to all the other shit they have to spend money on, right? The reason they decided to start doing it is because it was cheaper than all the administrative costs of the free/reduced price for low income student program.

School lunch is government funded. The people who make it are city employees.

I'm guessing that's mostly for lower income communities. I don't remember the exact details but in some lower-income communities school lunches are definitely free. At most schools I assume you have to pay for your lunch.

The point I was trying to make with the post was how Tumblr goes 0 to 100 real quick without thinking anything through.

ah yes, I am reminded of the old joke:
tumblr user 1: the reading comprehension on this site is piss poor
tumblr user 2: how dare you say we piss on the poor!

Do Republicans even have anything to do with the lunch debt thing? I don't know why Tumblr even brought them up.

Convenient Scapegoat.
Didn't Michelle Obeme ruin school lunches for a bit?
Michelle Obama went health crazy, and, being a rich bitch, didn't actually give two shits about the edibility of the food (considering her kids probably went to private prep schools and she didn't have to eat the slop they serve in public school). It all tasted like shit (maybe a bit :powerlevel:-y but I graduated 2014, so I had the displeasure of tasting all her "reforms") at least the fucking grease on the old white potato fries made them sort of edible instead of that sweet potato bullshit. Not to mention the whole concept of free breakfast and lunch was because since school is public, some of those kids lived in poverty and only got lunch as a meal. I mean my school also had the option of taking "salad" instead or as a side, which was composed of 100% iceburg lettuce, the least nutritionally dense lettuce. It's great to make changes when they don't affect you. Thanks, Obama. We didn't need your goddamn healthy food, we needed caloric content to keep from keeling over.

Goddamn I didn't know it was that bad. I graduated during his first term and by the time I graduated I started bringing my own lunch because of that lunch bill shit. If you didn't pay it, you didn't graduate so we just omitted that option completely. If anything, I quite enjoyed those Costco/Sams Club mini pizzas while they lasted.

I think the main issue with the reforms wasn't that Michelle Obama didn't give two shits, but the guidelines were really easily abusable for the schools who didn't give two shits. The 'health' aspect was more concerned about calorie counts than genuine nutritional balance, and the easiest way to serve less calories is to serve less food.

My high school's lunch was actually alright. It was large enough to have an actual kitchen and not get food trucked in from the city wide kitchen, though, so that was probably why. They couldn't use fresh greens from the school farm 'cause of health code reasons, though, which was too bad.
The school lunch program exists because the army had too many underweight recruits...of course now the issue is the army has too many overweight recruits. The federal government should start mandating recess or something.
