Random Tumblr posts

So it has just come to my attention (AKA just appeared on my dashboard) that a certain Tumblr user that used to be a member of this very site made one of the funniest, dumbest arguments ever. In regards to shipping a gay character with a member of the opposite sex. Look for yourself.
That post is literally impossible to read with their theme. Here's an archive of it on the mobile site.

Ah shit, I didn't notice the theme. I just saw it on my dashboard and it was too big to screenshot, so I just copied the link on the blog. My apologies. Anyway, now Warden, who used to go by Herrcolonel, is having a circlejerk with luxwing, who I remember being mentioned in the Vade thread.

I highly doubt the majority of people here care that a bunch of the non-desirables in the tf2 fandom are exceptionally salty over straight porn. I mean it's hilarious because these same people enjoy forcing all the characters to be huge gays and even raped gay, but a fictional woman touching a penis for the author to get off to? Holy shit call the fucking cops.

I can't believe this girl wasn't joking when she said this. The entitlement here is astounding.

I consider myself a feminist and yet shit like this pisses me off. There are parts of the world in which women are forced to marry their rapists. There are little girls out there who get their clitorises chopped off because in their culture female sexuality is considered bad while no one gives a fuck about male sexuality. But nope. Who gives a shit about that? LET'S TALK ABOUT MY STUDENT LOANS!

Also what the fuck does the military have to with student loans to begin with?

Not technically Tumblr posts, but here's some more bullshit caused by the Steven Universe Tumblr fandom:

Yes, it's gotten to the point where the writers can't answer fan questions anymore, because they know the Tumblr fandom will just use them to harass people.:(

Just like transgender people, Tumblr also has a weird fetish with autism. Character is slightly quirky and/or somewhat socially awkward? THAT CHARACTER IS TOTALLY AUTISTIC AND IF YOU DISAGREE YOU'RE NEUROTYPICAL TRASH!"

Also no one gives enough props to Ian JQ. He really seems like a chill and stand up guy who always deals with these idiots with patience and class, no matter how infuriating they can be.

Oh my God this is so fucking dumb.

I told Herr Colonel off earlier about her retarded-ass argument against shipping where one class was gender bent, because she felt like it was erasing homosexuality. I told her that was stupid and who fucking cares. Obviously she's learned nothing.

She's a lost cause. Leave her to the sharks.

Its the time of the week that I post my personal lolcow...
This week she's babbling about politics and queers:

Also you can safely bet your kids college fund on the fact that if you suggested that her sentence structure and word choice needed work that she would call you a racist and scream oppression.

I used to know the OP of that. It's sad to see what she become.

I think this is saddest part for us who are still ''Tumblring'' even today; many of people which we used to follow/have fun with started slowly turning into these ''no fun allowed/everything is problematic/you're a homphoberacistmysoginist/etc.'' and honestly in few cases it did broke my heart. :heart-empty:

It is the worst, man. You need a strong constitution to Tumbl without losing your sanity.

honestly, i think the worst experience is when you have literally joined tumblr just because all your friends have one and they reblog all the stuff you like, and then over the years you have to watch them become more and more extreme and self-hating and into social justice and you are completely helpless to stop it

This is why I tend to only follow themed-Tumblr blogs (like horror/creepy themed blogs) or people who blog mostly art/cool pictures.

What's always kind of weird to me is when someone follows my Tumblr and they are pretty much your typical hyper SJW. Pretty much the only thing I post on my Tumblr is my art and as a rule I generally like to keep my personal politics out of any place I put my art. That being said, anyone is open to enjoying my art despite their personal beliefs (I don't do that "Only follow me if-" bullshit), but sometimes I look at who is following me and think "Wooowwww, you and I would not get along if we actually met."

It's also a kind of unnerving feeling to always be thinking in the back of your mind, "When I am going to post some rather innocuous picture that is going to offend them and have to deal with this crap on a personal level?"

this basically is why (along with about a trillion other things) everybody within a reasonable frame of mind who still uses tumblr needs to bail out of the place while they can; the content that you can find on tumblr -- which, in a lot of cases you can probably find elsewhere anyways -- is not nearly adequate enough to justify possibly dealing with real life bullshit just because you happened to say the wrong thing around the wrong type of person at the wrong time of day

That's basically me too; I did myself great justice unfollowing toxic people and following stuff like cute animals or game art. I usually just shitpost and post art, I also avoid any sort of political commentary because I need no shitstorm around me, and especially since I don't want to be alienated from a certain group of people which are somewhat of my co-workers and they have certain ways of thinking unfortunately. :(

Tumblr was, also unfortunately, first place where I could feel a bit more myself. I was always anxious about meeting new people and interacting, but on Tumblr I could have fun without thinking much if I'm gonna offend someone or if someone will think I'm weirdo (which happened quite enough IRL and I'M EVEN GODDAMN VANILLA TYPE OF NERD. Imagine what's my town like), but now my anxiety sometimes goes even worse because of this craphole of a site. *sigh*

This was at the bottom of an (attempted) discussion on minimum wage.

This, of course, ignores that fatness used to be a sign of wealth until the rise of dieting and that culturally, we still have this association of fat meaning an excess of food and money.

I highly doubt if they'd made the poor person appear fat that they'd have been satisfied anyway. At least they were right about the Fat Cat thing being coined in the 20s.
