Oh, tumblr is absolutely still filled with crazies, fat slacktivists, furries, etc, but unlike Reddit whenever someone says something 'problematic', it usually stays up rather than immediately being buried and silenced by jannies.
It all being personal blogs interacting with eachother and just using specific tags for things instead of having big boards about hobby x or franchise y also probably helps with that.
Allowing any kind of opposition to the lunacy when another site doesn't is also a pretty good way to get rid of crazies though

Especially when compared to other sites, shit like fake did/multiple personality systems with 200 alters and people who identify as catgender used to be basically tumblr exclusive, now those are common on Reddit and Twitter and especially Tiktok too, making Tumblr less insane, relatively speaking.
On the main trending page, there's still some gender shit (about the new bill) as expected, but only after scrolling for quite a while and its few and far between, it's mostly some very normal fandom posts and bunch of aesthetic photos of food, environments, Taylor Swift, etc, sometimes with book quotes attached, and it feels like there's a lot more of that than a few years ago. There are more Taylor Swift posts trending than tranny ones.
Like the kind of hipster shit you would see in pre-sjw tumblr, the simpler times.
Meanwhile, reddit frontpage is filled with whining and sperging about sjw shit.

I am not a “moron” or a “jerk” just because every human has different dietary needs and mine don’t match most people's, thanks. I have been hallucinating more and more and more the longer I have to eat “normal” because most carbs cause inflammation in my brain and half my organs. Eating a ketogenic diet is not “eating like garbage” for me. Keto is not for most people, but it IS for some. It becoming a fad diet sucks, but that did lead to more accessibility for people who needed it, because nobody could care less about people like me unless it becomes popular with The Ableds first. Reddit, 4chan and any other "non hierarchical" social media have the advantage that reach isn't the determined by allready being popular with tons of followers, anyone posting has the same audience allowing for new content to actually be found.
