Pretty tame thing to lie about. Sure, that rarely stops them, but "a bunch of high schoolers fucking around out of boredom when forced to read centuries-old literature in class" is pretty par for the course. Besides, they were just reading it aloud, it's not like the guy was in drag playing the character in a play. He was just reading a sentence or two in a retarded voice whenever it was his turn.
Well, when my year eight class did Romeo and Juliet the boys took the Romeo and Tybalt scene and turned it into Romeo cracking onto Tybalt, and Tybalt freaking the fuck out. This was in the late 1990s. It wasn't some important statement about sexuality and allyship, it was just the boys fucking around in English class because they were bored.
