TR-8R is the stormtrooper who confronts Finn yelling "traitor" and has become a minor meme. It's pretty obvious to me that Phasma was an attempt by the film makers to repeat the cult success of Boba Fett: cool looking but ultimately does nothing. The fact she's a captain doesn't automatically make her a strong female character or whatever. It's actually pretty ironic how much Phasma was talked up in press conferences and such considering how minor her role in the actual film is.

Again, I'm pretty sure that when Tumblr talks about abusive parents, they mean parents who take their internet privileges away. Also I'm pretty sure the reason parents are expected to control their children more applies to younger kids, who don't know how to act in public, and will do stupid (possibly dangerous) things if not kept under control.

And the mandatory love thing is just stupid. I'm sure there's tons of people who hate their parents. It's not like, "oh did you tell your mom you loved her on Mother's Day?"

Maybe Phasma will play a larger role in the upcoming movies, but for now, yeah, she's Boba Fett with more lines and a woman. I think her concept is cool and all but TR-8R left a bigger impression. I mean, shit, he did something really cool! Phasma didn't do anything except give orders and be kind of a coward.
