Is it? I've never seen or heard of one real, credible instance of it.
I've met flaming bull dykes who had always been flaming bull dykes and claimed to be "political lesbians", but I've never met a woman who appeared to have primarily heterosexual tendencies and "chose to be gay" to fight the system.

No, the trailer sucked, 90% of remakes suck, and the movie will suck. I've never seen the original Ghostbusters but I know the remake is gonna suck because it's constantly hyped as "TEH WYMMINS!!!" and completely disregards the original story.

In my limited exposure to it, I've found that nowadays it seems to be most appealing to pseudo-Nice Guy lesbians who want every single woman to be available to them. However, now that the first generation of political lesbians is well out of college, it's known that some of them ended up considering it a phase in the long run and got married to men. political lesbians are a thing, though largely seem to confine themselves (at least nowadays) to extreme radfem communities where they know they'll get asspats for it. i've seen plenty of self-identified political lesbians in tumblr's TERF community, and hiding away in lesser known subreddits about feminism. i could maybe try to make a write-up about their online presence and post it in a suitable thread when i'm less busy with work. they're pretty fucking delusional.

I have issues with shower water hitting my back. It takes a while for me to get used to the water. The rest of my body feels fine, but I grimace when it's time to turn around. Yeah, I love hot showers, but it's totally NORMAL. My back being oversensitive? Not so much.

Were you in college recently? There are tons of women who were "lesbians" or "bisexual" in college, never fucked a single chick or only once or twice, and now they're entirely heterosexual presenting, married to men, etc. and you don't hear a word of it any more.

Something like the Saudi Arabian Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice. Except instead of bearded dudes screaming Allahu Akbar it'd be blue-haired crazy fat ladies screaming DOWN WITH CIS.

This whole concept of "straight women living as lesbians to fight against male power" has the same power fantasy stink of the "And then everyone applauded" meme. It's something that never happens, but people talk about to make it seem like they're capable of committing to an ideology like that.

I've noticed that after High School/College, (some)Tumblrites stop being Tumblrites. They get real jobs, stop idenitying as LGBTQZURSA find husbands, raise families, etc. and laugh at their old Tumblrina ways.

Maybe there's some hope for these morons.

I haven't read Toothpaste for Dinner in a long time but it always went for a lot of very surreal sort of humor, so I think this is more like taking "why isn't there a white history month?" thing to such an absurd extreme, that it becomes ridiculous and therefore humorous.
