The different colored elves is something that shows up a lot in the LOTR fandom. They can't seem to grasp that elves as Tolkien wrote them were from a northern European traditions. Before he wrote them like that they were generally pretty, but small and mischievous in folklore. Or terrifying.

Why the fuck they can't do some research and write a new world with the magical beings developed from African, Asian, or South American influences I don't understand. Oh wait, yes I do. It would take effort.

Plus you can't change anything from other cultures. Tolkien took small, generally annoying fair folk and created his own race of tall, graceful beings. Try changing anything from any other culture like that and the REEEEEE's would be heard around the world.

That would require work and effort though, it's easier to rip on someone else's ideas instead of making your own universe.

I'm so glad I didn't grow up with Lazy Town, Can you imagine growing up looking up to Sportacus only to go on the internet ten years later and see damn sexy demon Sportacus?

The "World's First Gay Gorilla" part actually got a chuckle out of me, becuas it's like this glimmering bit of self-awareness trying so hard to escape to the outside world. But the rest of this is cancer.
