Actually, regarding Dumas, I once read a post on Tumblr that was singing praises about him. How his father or grandfather (I don't remember exactly) was a badass PeOhCee who made Napoleon look like a whimp, how he totally made several of the characters in The Three Musketeers poc and how he overcame racism and whatever in 19th century France and etc etc. I read that post ages ago and I don't remember where I even found it, but it was pretty long and quite the read with tons of reblogs.

(Mind you, I read about him later on on Wiki (which ofc only gives a brief overview), and that made him sound like he barely had any racism problems in France. Also loads of mentions of him liking to screw around a lot and not take any responsibility for the aftermath but I guess that's fair game in tumblr's eyes)

No lies there, mere aggrandizing (because it suits them here)
His grandfather was Thomas-Alexandre Dumas Davy de la Pailleterie (because fuck you, that's why) and he was definitely remarkable as a man of his status. He was respected for his services done under Napoléon but trust me when I say that Tumblr only remembers the fact he was black and badass and entirely forgets how he was a strict, law-abiding man who did his duties. If they did pay attention do that, they'd call him an Uncle Tom in a heartbeat.

It's funny cause I often bring him up along with other black historical figures that aren't MLK or Harriet Tubman or whichever other black American symbol when these brats go on about m-muh black history- last time was when some brat was WKing for the Hamilton musical about how it was important to have POC historical figures and stuff

Never mind giving historical figures that were actually POC the spotlight, nah, you gotta blackface white ones cause that's totally not insulting to everybody involved.

The current run of Les Mis--at least in the States--and the 25th anniversary album has angry black woman Eponine (seriously, "Little Fall of Rage" would be better name for her exit song). So that's probably why they decided she's always been black and that Victor Hugo was probably also black and totally championing for the POC cause.

Lea Salonga, the most famous Eponine (and also the singing voice for Mulan and Jasmine), is Filipino, but Tumblr forgets that the Philippines exist altogether, so she doesn't count.

1. Download the Gyazo extension for your browser.
2. Press Ctrl+Shift+C, left-click the mouse, and drag over the area you want to capture.
3. A new tab will open with the image. Copy and paste the image address with the "[IMG ][ /IMG]" code, without spaces.

That's it, you're done, never post a copy-pasted Tumblr post again. It takes less than ten seconds.
