A publisher who feels the need to be this bitter and argumentative on Facebook is like a giant red flashing neon sign that whatever vanity projects they publish- it’s crap.

This is a rehash of the exact same argument a baby boomer parent would say to their daughters.

Women protesting against make-up and yet acting like it's absolutely needed. Plenty of women don't wear make-up and even if they don't look great natural who cares? You can still do your job and have a lover. The men who believe all women must look like celebrities are much less than you think. I mean just look around you: how many couples are out there where they both look ugly or okay at best?

TBH tumbrlinas who spout that "lipstick and nail polish are my warpaint and i'll smash the patriarchy with my purse RAWR" bs are super obnoxious, so I'm ok with people calling it out.

Weaponized femininity people did make makeup out to be something more than just fun, that's the issue. That post has to be several years old, though, because I haven't seen any serious 'eyeliner sharp enough to kill a man' posts in ages.

Are teenage girls really pressured into wearing Insta makeup? I would say adults really dislike that because of how slutty it looks. Also, if you wear makeup every day...don't complain about how other people also wear makeup every day.

I can never tell if these kinds of posts are serious or just making fun of black people who think every famous European was black. The grain of truth here is that Joan of Arc (whose real name was in fact not Joan...because she was French) was described as having dark hair, dark eyes, and tan skin. But so do lots of white people.

This idea seems to have originated here, a blog run by either a paranoid schizophrenic or someone who really likes pretending to be exceptional.
