Going to the official blog yields two posts created less than a week ago, an FAQ, and a list of characters. She's apparently only 14, so while this is one hell of a...thing...I'm going to be optimistic and assume she'll grow out of it.

To be fair, the 1920s was the time the Harlem Renaissance was taking place. But that was only one section of New York. The city was probably a lot more segregated than this person thinks at the time. Also this person sounds like a total narcissist. They're not just asking for any diversity but black people specifically. Because they're black.

What is "otherhearted"? I've never heard of that before. Does it just mean "I like this character", because I feel like you can just say "I like these characters".

Oh, that's not good enough for Tumblr. You see, they believe that to truly show that you enjoy, relate to, or approve of something, you need to pretend to be that thing. Ideally, you should be able to relate to characters that you enjoy, but people on Tumblr take that to a bizarre extreme by pretending that those characters are an integral part of their identities. It's fuckin' weird.
