Whenever I see shit like this, I wonder if anyone has ever used pronouns like these in real life conversation. That would be something to see.
Just glue some demiromantic gears on it and call it steampunkgender.

This is getting shared on a lot of tumblr walls right now. I have a question for you...

Do you not want to have sex right now? Like now right now? No? Congratulations! You're asexual, or "Ace."

2015-12-22-Ace-Kiku-H.png

Right out of the comic:
  • Being asexual doesnt mean you never have or enjoy sex.
  • Being asexual doesn't mean you never mastubate
  • Being asexual doesn't mean you aren't attracted to people
Being asexual means that you don't want to have sex most of the time. See, normies want to have sex almost all the time, every day, with nearly everyone in their opposite gender. If you don't, you're one of the specialest snowflakes that can ever be, you ace, you!

What does "asexual" even mean anymore? Well, the definition of "asexual" is being re-evaluated by the psyhiatric community as a self-prescribed sexuality that precludes actual diagnoses.

"Traditionally asexual" people and self-identified asexual people are actually disambiguated in the DSM-V! Excerpt taken from the female side but the male side is nearly identical.

"For a diagnosis of female sexual interest/arousal disorder to be made, clinically significant distress must accompany the symptoms in Criterion A. Distress may be experienced as a result of the lack of sexual interest/arousal or as a result of significant interference in a woman’s life and well-being
If a lifelong lack of sexual desire is better explained by one’s self-identification as “asexual,” then a diagnosis of female sexual interest/arousal disorder would not be made."

Yep. If you self-identify as asexual, you can't be diagnosed as having a lack of a sex drive. We know what tumblrinas, shut-ins, and the willfully abstinent are but what about everyone else?

Well: You can have no sex drive and fall in love. You can have no sex drive and live a somewhat different but otherwise fulfilling life. Many people with SI/AD ask their non SI/AD partners to sleep with whomever they want so long as emotions don't enter into it. In the words of a previous patient "I don't like going to the movies either, if she wants to go to the movies with someone else, that's fine, just don't marry them afterwards." If you're SI/AD, you're a bit outside the zeitgeist and social structures built around sex but still a fine individual.

...On the other hand, if you say "I'm asexual" to decorate yourself, frequently wonder about the day you'll finally get laid, and masturbate to Superwhoniverse gay fanfiction 80% of the time you're awake instead of talking to real people... you're not "ace" you're "embarrasing." If Living the life in this paragraph makes you sad and axious, seek psychiatric help - its worth the money for even a few visits.

And most of all: If someone says they've been "diagnosed as asexual": either they don't understand what their doctor told them, or they're lying. Big surprise.

Why do they make it so needlessly complicated? If you don't want to have sex then just don't have sex. It's that simple.

Eh, the best analogy I've heard is that an asexual person's 'goods' still work, so they might want to use them sometimes. Libido and sexual attraction are different - someone could be super homosexual but have no libido, but that won't make them asexual.

I dunno. Everything tumblr throws at you about asexuality just contradicts everything else. People say different things about it so it's up to a person to decide. So long as they're not autochorissexual or whatever.

I actually screencapped this about a week ago but forgot to post it
A tumblrite getting upset over nothing. It made me lol

I feel sorry for the other girl who was just trying to have a conversation.

one of the reblogs says
"I’m just me. I don’t want people to see me as … an aggressively heterosexual woman who bends over backwards for men and only does “women’s” activities. Which is what girly girly girl sounds like. I don’t need that kind of pressure."

I usually try to bring stuff from outside of the Persona 4 tags, but then people post some crazy shit that I just have to share.

For context, this character's worry about her weight gain is actually not played as a joke. It's implied in story mode that Kanami has Diabetes, to the point of even carrying "Emergency Blood Sugar candies" with her. Then again, that would take watching more than five minutes on Youtube.

What is with people and saying "not a genderbend?" Call me old fashioned, but that looks pretty genderbent to me.

This person in particular had a kin page, so I decided to check it out.

They can't relate to Japanese characters on a cultural level, don't want to be called by the Japanese names of their kins, yet 90% of their kintypes are Japanese characters. Makes sense.

The first guy is doing nothing but asking legitimate questions, and as every tumblrina would do, the other one starts spewing buzzwords, not answering the questions (since it's clear they don't have the answer lol), and threatening to block them. A+, tumblrite. It looks like their blog is actually full of screenshotted convos between them and whoever tries to figure out their weird logic.

Oh hey, I thought Pinkiepony was done with drama after pissing off the bronies.
For what it's worth, she draws naked furries now.

Genderbends are considered transphobic now. But you can draw genderbends all you want as long as you just say the characters are trans, it's like magic!

Boy, they're sure trying to stretch the definition of asexuality, aren't they? "For example, a sex-positive asexual might appear to have quite an active sex life for other reasons than attraction solely; emotional bonding, relaxation, physical pleasure, and fun..." Isn't that the reason for most people having sex? I mean, seriously. They are really grasping at straws here so they can have those sweet, sweet Tumblr oppression points.
There was me thinking that asexuality these days was just becoming a way for women to be able to pick and choose when to have sex in a relationship without having to take into account any of the needs or desires of a partner.

Just Asexual Thingz™: Regularly having and enjoying sex but insisting this doesn't count as being "sexual" because you don't feel some nebulously-defined "urge" to have sex.
