So, calling a movie "badly done" would keep Jamie Foxx from...success...?

Yeah, it will totally stop his career in his tracks. According to those people, as soon as a black person (because let's be real, they don't care about Latinos or other races) is in a bad movie, they are shunned from Hollywood because the white devil is waiting for them to fuck up. Obvi, because Will Smith, Halle Berry and Sam Jackson all never worked again after they did less than stellar movies.

Wasn't sure to post this on the Furry thread or here, but it seems non-furries are also getting into this, so...Furries gone SJW

It's funny that they think the staff would care. When did the staff ever gave a fuck about the site?

Black tumblr's one of the tumblr groups that thinks they're more important than they really are.

Creating a furry OC is So Important™, you guys.

To be fair, I can see why people would want to avoid the furry label, considering all the weirdo furries, even if they are also furries by definition. But it really isn't that big of a fucking deal and it's not some sort of social issue. Then again, Tumblr's never been known for having a decent sense of scale when it comes to things that bother them a bit compared to real problems.

tumblr's also been known to discard relevant labels if said labels are "problematic" or cause one to associate with people they don't want to.

It can't, of course, be because crafts involve crafting something for regular use, whereas fine arts are concerned purely with aesthetics, the term being a translation from the French beaux-arts. Also, pay no attention to the fact that "craft" originally referred to physical prowess, but in Old English was expanded to include concepts of finer skills and artistic merit.

Everyone loves to simplify things into narratives of oppression like this.

Imagine being a Dutch merchant in the 17th century coming in contact with artistic traditions from Japan or Africa for the first time. We in the internet age always underestimate how truly alien art and taste from other countries was before the age of the globalized museum. It's not even a race thing a lot of the time, it would just be literally impossible to conceive of as easily as we can.

As a side note though, the archetypal Da Vinci conception of "fine art" wasn't even always as widespread in Europe as we tend to think. A lot of that came from heavily romantic views back on the Renaissance.
