Reminds of that King of the Hill episode where a neighbor kid was allowed to do whatever he wanted because he was a "free spirit," but when it was brought back on that kid's parents they saw crap like that just doesn't work and turns the kid into a demon spawn inconsiderate of the world around them.

To be fair, the actual article states that scientists were able to use gene editing to ameliorate some autism symptoms in rats, so there isn't a cure or even human testing underway at the moment.

Slight power level but i have to say, what's up with saying "latin/latinx" when referring to a Latino? Almost any actual latino i've met IRL never says that word, only tumblrites and internet folks do. What's up with that?

"latinx" is supposed to be the gender neutral version of "latino/latina". It used to be "latin@", but that wasn't inclusive enough.
