Ya know, I feel like the main thing about using pronouns like xe and they, isn't really that big a deal. So you wanna use something else like that and you ask politely and the other person tries their best, who gives a shit, do what you want.
But shit like this is just so blatantly trying to be special. But I suppose this does mean their pronouns are diverse enough that I can say, "Idiot is an idiot."

People started hating him because of, I shit you not, him pandering to teenage girls in his novels. For some reason in tumblrese that equates to 'I'm a pedophile and I sexually abuse girls.' This would've been nothing if it didn't end up to multiple sexual assault and pedophile accusations.
He did kind of call them out but he's disappeared off the site ever since.

It's part of Tumblr's idealism-demonization pattern. At first, they mooned after him. Now that the new, shiny aspect of him is kinda done, they remember "hey, he's a white cishet male" and that they are supposed to hate that. So they make up shit about how he's a creepy pedo type for writing novels primarily for teenage girls, for listening to his audience, and for being not quite an SJW (because that's not good enough) and him being famous and random black/trans/whatever Tumblrina not being famous instead. They don't care that he writes novels and makes videos and that is the reason for anyone knowing his name, instead having entitlement the size of the moon. They think they deserve it instead of him, despite them not doing anything, because of their demographic traits and demonizing of the demographic traits he falls under.
That being said, I'm mostly indifferent to his writing or laugh at it. It becomes apparent when you watch his channel and you then go and read his books that the narrators use precisely the same colloquialisms as his speech patterns. It is a bit jarring. They're also generally snooty characters, but that's more by virtue of the characters being teenagers and having adolescent pattern narcissism/egotism/etc.

From what I've seen they don't think too kindly of Rowling because of how she handled Dumbledore's sexuality/trying to make Snape more of a morally gray character when he's entirely an EVUL ABUSIVE CREEP to them

That kinda makes sense in their backwards crazy brains. We have all seen how tumblrinas treat fictional characters. They ship them, draw porn of them, and write naughty fanfics about them. Characters = sexy time to them.
They must assume everyone thinks like this and so any character you create is obvs just meant to be your own fap-fest. So if you make kid characters you totally are a pedo.
