So, the SU fandom tried to kill someone again.

On a less shippy note...

Are you laughing yet? Yeah, me, neither.
Oh for fuck's sake, saying the name of a popular show IS NOT FUNNY. Saying a popular show is shit is also NOT FUNNY. Cosplaying or lifting quotes from a popular show is NOT FUNNY as well. Squeeing or fangirling over a popular show is NOT FUNNY AND NEVER WILL BE.

I could only watch about 2 minutes of that shit before I cringed myself into oblivion. Relentless Doctor Who references, a fucking tampon joke. What makes it even worse is that it has the animation style you'd see on a PBSkids show.

From what I know, they drove a male fan by the name of "tyrant-rex" to suicide because he drew a picture of one of the Crystal Gems (Pearl) shipped with Mayor Dewey.
Basically this:

Pearl has a "crush" on Steven's mother, Rose Quartz
images
and the fanbase cannot let their pwecious leshbiannshhhh be ewased, so they barraged him with messages on why he's a homophobe/lesbiophobe/whatever and drove him to post a suicide note on his blog.

This is the second or third time the SU fanbase has led a fan to suicide.

I'd rather they cancel SU already- if only to see their reactions. Maybe they'll be the ones to start suiciding then (sorry for the alog)

No. No. No. You cannot have Jay Sherman in the background of your shitty show. You are not good enough for that.

It's strange they have the Critic there, considering it's not 1) modern, 2) progressive, 3) for kids, 4) has hot mens or strong female characters to lust after

If your show relies on pop culture references out the ass from the first 'joke', you're not very creative.

It's progressive doe

Girls don't talk like this though? Girls don't announce they are putting in tampons to their friends, they don't wave them around out in the open. At most girls mention they are on their period if their stomach is hurting, and lately instead of even saying period just say shark week or something (at least in my area.) That's not realistic representation; unless tumblr/sjw girls talk like that to feel empowered or something.

Also that tampon is really small..

what the fuck is she sticking inside herself?
A tampon.

The whole thing was super unfunny but I was expecting worse tbh. The character design is bad but some of the animation was okay.

This was super shitty of people to do but I'd also suggest that if anonymous messages on tumblr affect you THAT much you're better off leaving the site instead of subjecting yourself to it. You know?

It's really sad to see people driven to suicide over harassment received through the internet over cartoons. Many sane people like cartoons, and they certainly do not harass people over things like ships or fanart.

I'm not a psychologist myself, but my guess is that these people would have felt cornered and depressed over the harassment. They would have felt that even if they had told their loved ones about it, the loved ones would have not helped them get over it because 'it was over a silly little thing like cartoons'. Eventually, they would feel very lonely (which accelerates depression faster than any other factor) and reach their breaking point. Once they snap, they would most likely attempt suicide, and in most of these cases, unfortunately succeed.
