Am I the only person who remembers the howls of rage at the Star Wars eps 1-3? The downright deafening outraged cacophony at the re-release of 4-6, containing both remastered footage and extra scenes that Lucas himself had wanted to put in when he made the films, but didn't have the budget or even the technology to do at the time?

That said, I will agree that there are some remakes that should never, ever, seen the light of day. That remake of "Every Breath You Take" where Puffdaddy & Co. squeal, screech, mumble, whine and whinny to someone else's song (which is about stalking, incidentally) carefully missing every note, expressing their profound sadness about some lost friend, for instance.

As for the second, I think you take that phrase way too to heart, bro. It's annoying, yes, but no one says something is "ruining their childhood" unironically... or at least I hope not.
I'll admit, the new Ghostbusters movie looks like a half-assed, money-grabbing piece of unfunny and creatively bankrupt bullshit, but that's because it is.
The remastering of Star wars ep6 that cut OG anikin out of frame and replaced him with Heydon Christianson was a lame idea, and I can see why viewers would be annoyed to see such a great story called back to its crappies the incarnation.
But I digress, it's just an expression

Yeah, you're right, I was sperging pretty hard. I need to seriously consider cutting back on all the blogs I follow. There are quite a few I follow because they've good content in between brain melting stupidity. Should probably start pruning down, I think.

That said, I just tried to do a survey from a (deceptive decent) paleontology blog I follow, and got four straight pages of multiple choice gender/gender identity/sexuality/sexual identification bullshit, each with thirty odd boxes for each question. And a helpful little box down the bottom for you to specify 'other.' Country, age, education, and yes, gender. Gender is relevant in terms of demographic, but surely not with thirty odd options for you to choose from.

What the fuck does being a trigender pansexual aromantic have to do with Thylacoleo carnifex or Titanoboa?

This happened with "Home" and the Annie remake. Not a peep about these movies is heard anymore on tumblr because there really was no substance to these movies.

Newsflash: women leaders mostly aren't going to be compassionate, sensitive sorts because those are not qualities which drive people into leadership roles. Exceptional and ruthless people are far more likely to make it there and that slice of the venn diagram is far more male than female.
