Random Tumblr posts

Pretty sure not a lot of them are even Landwhales, but just virtue signaling whores who just want to feel better about themselves. Business as usual in current year.

How many of these virtue-signalling ninnies have tiny text on their blogs against eye-searing colors?

Also, Tumblr rationalizing Ghostbusters is just sad to watch. Either these people are in denial or they just have shit taste in movies:

The Simpsons is now the most racist against asians show ever created.
And here I thought people hated The Simpsons now because it's been an unfunny piece of shit since 1999 and shows like South Park, American Dad, pre-2005 Family Guy, most of Adult Swim's original programming, and Futurama were (to varying degrees of success) proving to be funnier.

[sarcasm]Boy is my face red[/sarcasm]

Anybody who uses the Bechdel test (or any other "muh progressiveness" """test""") against a movie as a serious judge of how good the movie was is a clown, no exceptions. It's so flawed on so many levels. The "sexy lamp" test sounds like some idea they ripped from College Humor.

It IS hilarious tho when you think about it. These are the same people who try to use these tests to discredit good/decent movies (like Pacific Rim) and now that a movie that panders to them is called bad and BOMBS, they flock back to their tests to try and prove how "good" it is. Fuckin' classic.

Yes, the best quality of Furiosa, a woman who gave her all and nearly her life to save other women from sexual slavery, is that manchildren on the internet got mad about her.

I absolutely hate how Tumblr latched onto Fury Road. Mad Max is a cult classic series that basically carved an action-packed path for the post-apocalyptic genre to flourish in; making a previously depressing atmosphere into a terrifying yet exciting adventure. There have been references to it in just about EVERYTHING from video games to goddamn kid's cartoons.

But that's the only one of the movies they want to watch (nevermind that the admittedly low-budget original and Mad Max 2/The Road Warrior provides all the fucking backstory for the series), and that's only because they like Furiosa and because of how many girls are in it. They never talk about the themes; they just take something with all this value and substance and reduce it to a diversity quota.

I may also be salty because despite winning like six Oscars and even trying to pull the diversity card on them out of desperation my friends refuse to watch it. Just a little. Okay a lot.

Hell, it's just like the Hannibal post above: They never read Harris' books or watched the movies, and only cared about the NBC series because they shipped Hannibal and Will Graham together; they didn't give a shit about any of the symbolism or the story of why Hannibal is the way he is.

Yet on the opposite side of the coin, you have Tumblr ranting and raving about how 'deep' and 'progressive' shit is in their preferred media like their favorite cartoons (Adventure Time, Steven Universe, etc.) when it's either not that fucking deep at all or the thematic elements are so fucking obvious it's like being slapped in the face with them (see: Zootopia's racism messages).

TL;DR: Tumblr is so goddamned shallow with its media consumption you could probably stand in a puddleful of them and still not get your feet wet.

Also, hypocrisy, but that's nothing new for Tumblr.

Now that's some TV Tropes tier autism.

Dammit Karla-chan...:heart-empty:

Okay, so before I waste money on anything, I look at the reviews. Of course that means I didn't see GB. Lets say the movie had all of these things. Does it matter if it failed at everything else?

Apparently the only highlights of 2016 are mediocre movies and of course tumblr-approved crap.

You gotta love how she reduces the actors/characters from Star Wars as just their gender and race. Because they'll never amount to anything but that, obviously.

I think this chick follows me to this day and I don't know how to do to get her to unfollow me, she's the same chick that was all "white teenage boys are the devil" a few posts back. :heart-empty:

What do you expect from a site that mostly watches kid's media and only occasionally watches adult stuff when it caters to their political views or their own quirks ("adorable cinnamon rolls pure uwu", strong female characters, cats, nerdy white girls who wear glasses and eat pizza, hot white actors...)?

And not particularly thoughtful kids' media either.

A Pokemon GO post that started as "LOL normies" and went right into "Are you offended 24/7" quick as shit.

The Bechdel test is fucking bullshit.
A story revolves around a main character.
Side characters revolve around the main character.
So logically, the side characters, regardless if they're male or female WILL talk about the main character, regardless if they're male or female, to progress the plot.

Also, the Bechdel test was a joke from a comic, not meant to be taken seriously.

Ah, a classic. 'Course that was the worst that Hannibal got until all that fucking Hannigram shit started in season 3 then it was all insufferable shippers talking about how 'cute' the 'murder husbands' were. Apparently if you actually watched the show for the actual dark and murder-y shit you were somehow a minority.

Yeah, that's irritating, especially since a big aspect of Hannibal Lecter is that he's a serial murderer who eats people and trying to manipulate Will Graham to keep his "hobby" safe. Tumblr has an interesting double standard, where they piss and moan about most sorts of unhealthy relationships or anything they construe as such, but when something is genuinely unhealthy but the characters involved are all men, that makes it alright. Somehow. Probably because they fap to it.

To be honest, I tapped out of watching it because of the idea the show had that Lecter was somehow noble and hunting down other serial murderers and because so many of the other murderers were cannibals. Like a cannibalistic Dexter, which is very different than Lecter's original characterization. Cannibalism after murder is also incredibly uncommon, to the point that we remember their names once they're caught, like Ed Gein and Jeffrey Dahmer. Those points broke my willing suspension of disbelief. Then I heard people going on about "murder husbands" and decided my jumping ship was smart.

Someone added commentary to that post of things that are actually worthwhile from 2016.
Here's the post, and here's the archive. The OP seems pretty vapid, so I'm not surprised she couldn't come up with anything outside of media.
