The bullshit terms people are making up to justify their childish behaviour are hilarious.

"I was being QUEER BAITED but then the author decided to invoke the BURY YOUR GAYS trope and I felt so manipulated and cheated. This is totally an LGBTQ issue and must be taken very seriously!!"

Or, you know, you obsessed over a fictional character like a thirsty idiot for shallow reasons (their sexuality) and because the author decided to kill them off (in a manga with a huge body count) you're being overly dramatic because your toys got taken away. Move on.

And I haven't read SnK in a while, but I'm just going to assume the character in question was never gay to begin with.

"Queer baiting" remains the most pretentious and entitled way of saying "I WANT THESE TWO CHARACTERS TO FUCK" ever.

I bet you know every possible way of saying you want two characters to fuck, and are probably the world's expert in categorizing ways of saying it.

There is basically one canon couple among the main cast, which happens to be two women. Unfortunately, this just encourages people like OP. :(

But yeah, the characters in question are never referred to as being LGBT at all, even once. Except for Yumikuri, which is the lesbian couple. Which is canon. And they are alive.

Yes, I'm sure the Khmer Rouge had good music.
I'm sure they'll find plenty of triggering content if they actually spoke the languages.
So spoilers for the new SNK chapter just started to get leaked, and we've already got a crytyper.

People who go full retard on fictional characters dying are my favorite kinds of weirdos. I think that being saddened or disappointed that a character you've grown attached to dies is a kinda normal thing, since if the writing is good you should be attached to that character, but these kinds of people always take it waaaaay too far.
Especially in SNK where the main character's mother dying is one of the first events of the series, I don't know how you can be so surprised and apalled that characters are dying.
The holy Steven Universe has sinned. The newest episode featured a character that built a weapon designed to kill the bad guys, the lesson being that 'punching up' puts you at the same level as the people you're fighting against.

Tumblr is trigger'd.

Most tumblrites have this weird and borderline-sociopathic belief that if someone wrongs you that it's fair game to do something even worse to them back. I don't really watch SU but it seems like, from the info here, that this gem destroying device is not only dangerous, but also very cruel to use on someone, to the point that it would be wrong to use it even on the veeeery evil big bads.
Of course tumblrites can't wrap their (pin-shaped) heads around this.

From the fandom who says you can't have any male gem original characters, apparently Bismuth is trans-coded. Does that mean they have to acknowledge male gems now?
Fucking trans coded. So a big buff woman just has to be trans, huh.
Gotta love that the same type of person who is going to yell about how women can be just as strong as men, is now saying that a strong, buff woman must have just been born a man.

To be fair, this most recent chapter was complete bullshit and the writing was extremely clunky and flawed. A lot of people are upset. To make it about shipping and "queerbaiting" is laughable, though.

It's too late to give Suicide Squad the Ghostbusters 2016 treatment of making people say it's good because REPRESENTATION.

Give it up, fam.

Not even that, none of the representation characters do anything at all. Except Will Smith but he's the biggest 'star' in the film, I don't really count him as representation since Marvel has a few black superheros already. No character development, they just sit around in the movie. :story:

Implying that 22 year olds aren't adults and have no control over their own actions. 22 isn't a "girl", 22 is a fully grown woman.

One of the sources mentioned in that post is this fine collection of salt.

What a bunch of well adjusted adults, wanting to kill themselves and the showrunners because a character only appeared once, and because the moral of the episode was "Fighting hate with hate results in an endless cycle where no one wins".

They fail at grasping one of the core concepts of a cartoon they claim to love.

The irony is so fucking thick, Chris-chan would see it.

The entire "Steven Universe" and "Bismuth" tags are full of salt. Get some popcorn for it.

Writing aside time!

I have not seen the show at all, but a friend of mine was discussing what happened. This friend loathes Tumblr and did have a point about the whole thing when discussing the show's handling of the topic of war. People kill each other in war. There is no way of getting around that fact, because it isn't war otherwise by definition. I agree with some of the sentiment she has, since a big problem in stories that try to have an anti-violence message while the main characters are active participants in a war, ignores that they actively chose to be involved and maintain involvement in said war, and that it is a war they are in instead of a heated political disagreement.

Incidentally, I just Googled the topic in relation to Steven Universe and the other side in the show are apparently genocidal maniacs who would literally kill everything on Earth. So, to keep with the fictional examples, it'd be like the Rebel Alliance in Star Wars going "Fuck it, let's let the Empire murder entire planets with the Death Star, because a few of us are squeamish about killing anyone whatsoever." Such a character essentially cares more about their sentimentality than the lives of countless innocent people. This is rarely addressed in such stories when it comes up, though, because then that makes the writer's anti-war message fall flat.

However, much of Tumblr doesn't see it like that. They just want to use it as an excuse, to say that they deserve to treat people who had nothing to do with a crime centuries ago are guilty by some random demographic trait. They don't care about the idea of the other side being genocidal in the series at all, since they think genocide is a grand idea, if all their "kill all white people," "kill all men," etc. posts are anything to go by.
