The tumblr search algorithim picks up on words/phrases/ect even if you're not tagging them directly or just mentioning them in the post. If I made a post saying something like "Undertale sucks" or putting in the tags of a post I'm making #undertale sucks, people searching for Undertale will find it when they go to look at newest posts. So people censor out certain words to avoid them being found in searches.

Isn't that basically the premise of Alice in Wonderland already? What with the obvious hallucinogens and breaking and entering and such? This has long been a joke made about the series, their idea isn't progressive OR original.

This doesn't even count the weird math metaphors or the supposed author's pedophilia apparently prevalent in the story, either.

Not exactly. It owes its origins more to parodies of the British aristocracy and in-jokes between Caroll and his friends/family, but that re-imagining of it is so common as to have essentially become the common interpretation of Alice. A lot of research has been done on the matter, particular sifting through the relationship between Caroll and the Liddells, and a lot of jokes, themes, etc may never be understood even by lifetime scholars of his works simply because he and his peers never told anyone what the meaning of certain things was- we kind of have to go digging through letters and the like to pick up on things like that (if we even can.)

Essentially Alice in Wonderland was never fully meant to be understood by everyone, but constructed in deeper and deeper layers, from what the average reader was supposed to get from it to what Caroll's closest associates were supposed to get from it, and why I err on the side of caution with things like themes of pedophilia (with a lot of acknowledgement about the complexity of the subject.) It's safe to say that most tumblrites lack the kind of nuanced thought process it takes to look beyond the surface of Caroll's works. Even the "Prince of Paradox", famous British philosopher and literary mastermind, G.K. Chesterton, often lamented that it was misunderstood, including by himself.

tl;dr it's complicated and a lot of people on tumblr are dumb.
