It's ALWAYS the same thing with tumblr. Something written actually clever and interesting is initially praised by tumblr (Game of Thrones, South Park), but then it turns into mockery, "It's bad because it's overrated" and cringey, and tumblr acting like they're so superior for having "good" tastes or something. (when they instead wet their pants over pandering truly bad shit like horror movie remakes or dumb cartoons)
Except with some stuff, like Harry Pothead. That's like a sacred cow on tumblr.

Harry Potter was starting to earn Tumblr's ire--especially with the whole Ilvermorny Native American debacle--until TOTALLY CANON Black Hermione came along. Now, because the creator listened to their whining and more or less retroactively changed her entire series, it's the purest of the pure and every other content creator should do the same thing.

I've been trying to point that out, but they seem to conveniently ignore it, or they scream about anyone daring to make that comparison without actually proving it wrong (kinda like the way tumblesbians lose their shit when you compare them to "nice guys").
