It worked with Youtube advertisers. Except that it was the Wall Street Journal contacting all those advertisers and not random tumblr users. Plus they had a specific example in mind (the Pewdiepie nazi controversy) instead of some vague shit about allowing fascism and neo nazis.

I see very little about race in that.
They do get what the book was about to a point. Dickens was criticizing stuff like this in all of his books from Oliver Twist to Hard Times. He was all about compassion and empathy towards the poor and working class. They're right in one thing - the man did know what was up.

I probably should have included the comment where a rando on Tumblr completely missed the point of why Scrooge hates Christmas and turned it into "He hates Christmas because some woman rejected him" when from what I've always noticed, it's because he ruined his one relationship due to greed, which made him more greedy after. But nah- according to Tumblr it's because some woman turned him down.
Under a communist government we'd all be getting oranges or bananas only at Christmas time, according to every story I've read about people who grew up in Communist countries.

As for the Communism thing: It was interesting. Every story basically said they couldn't get oranges or bananas so during the Christmas holidays, they were allowed to have them only that one time. And that was actually something they'd look forward to.

You should see the Anarch capitalist translation of this where they think Scrooge being pressured by charity and became bitter by that. Also that Scrooge dindu nothing and how dare the story call him on his greed, because entrepenuers are saints in their eyes. There is recent juicy drama in the Ace Discourse on tumblr. We may or may not have a cow on our hands. This person goes by Dame and they've recently been getting shit for making a list of 'aphobes' that has over 100+ users listed on there. The list is so long that is crashed the tumblr browser for many users (myself included). Not long after they edited out the list, but many screen capped parts of it. Dame will only give the list to users if you ask them off anon but I can't message them because they most likely blocked me.
Since tumblr is a snake pit people are digging up shit about Dame like how they 'unknowingly' dated a 14 year old when they were 20 years old and other horrible things.
Someone has been trying to get the list into google docs and supposedly the list is 68 pages long.
