Except one of the subtler points of the story is that Carrie looked no different than her tormentors--that if she had had a normal childhood, she could have even rivaled any of the girls that teased her. She totally looked like a beautiful, blonde prom queen when she arrived at that dance, and that only just further angers and spurs on what eventually happens to her. Carrie White is abnormal, but she is a pretty, skinny blonde FOR A REASON. It's a factor in the other girls' pettiness towards her. If you changed Carrie, you would then need to change the asshole bullies as well.

Its rated R for a reason. Of course there will be sex and other shit that would be too uncomfortable for people who can't handle those things. Its not that hard of a concept to grasp on. But of course these manchildren would look for reasons to pin the blame on the movie and others, not themselves.

Yes but if you don't go to them you can't be triggered and cry type about it later. You have to see the film because otherwise people might call you on your bullshit when you don't know the plot.

Not to get too off topic here but in the book Carrie was kind of ugly; she was fat and pimply, and the other girls made fun of her for it. They hated the fact that Carrie was getting sympathy and pity from other people because they thought she didn't deserve it. They were petty towards her because she wasn't good looking and she had poor social skills.
I do get where you're going with it though, and admittedly I haven't seen the movie. I've only read the book so maybe that aspect makes the story better in the movie, I don't know.

Yeah, difference in adaptation. Fat and pimply was not what they went for in the classic version of the movie. The movie version is a little bony to my eyes, but I don't have a 1976 vision of feminine beauty, so I can't tell if that's "too skinny" for the time, and I certainly can't tell you if it's "bully-attracting skinny" for any period.
Either way, the point stands: The more you make Carrie different from the people that are tormenting her, the less impact the message really has. A mother should love her daughter, not torture her in the name of a religion. Her classmates should be her friends, not her bullies. There's no reason built-in why they SHOULD hurt her, they just do.
Want to watch something crazy, though? Make two versions of this movie, the first with a crazy muslim and a class of middle-easterners, changing nothing else except the religion and ethnicity. Make the other a version with an overbearing jewish mother and a class of big nosed kids with kippahs. See what happens, especially when people see the pigs' blood scene.
