Or “Oh yeah, I remember having imaginary friends and stuff as a kid”. Nowadays they’d be claiming Calvin from Calvin & Hobbes was tiger-kin, or alien-kin. Not that he just had an active imagination that he used to create stories.im sure their dad really was ike "what the fuck are you talking about, man i should've beaten you more as a child"
why would you put that image in my headNowadays they’d be claiming Calvin from Calvin & Hobbes was tiger-kin, or alien-kin.
Except one of the subtler points of the story is that Carrie looked no different than her tormentors--that if she had had a normal childhood, she could have even rivaled any of the girls that teased her. She totally looked like a beautiful, blonde prom queen when she arrived at that dance, and that only just further angers and spurs on what eventually happens to her. Carrie White is abnormal, but she is a pretty, skinny blonde FOR A REASON. It's a factor in the other girls' pettiness towards her. If you changed Carrie, you would then need to change the asshole bullies as well.View attachment 346792
Sure, we can remake Carrie to be black or trans or an immigrant or whatever, but don't ignore the fact that white cis girls can also still be bullied for whatever reason.
Hell, you can just make your own story about a girl being bullied & getting revenge based on YOUR experiences. You don't have to edit pre-existing media to fit the narrative you want to show.
If you changed Carrie, you would then need to change the asshole bullies as well.
Its rated R for a reason. Of course there will be sex and other shit that would be too uncomfortable for people who can't handle those things. Its not that hard of a concept to grasp on. But of course these manchildren would look for reasons to pin the blame on the movie and others, not themselves.
Aren't there sites where you can check to see if an animal dies in them?
Like if that's a concern, you have places you can check.

Yes but if you don't go to them you can't be triggered and cry type about it later. You have to see the film because otherwise people might call you on your bullshit when you don't know the plot.Besides that, I thought it was common knowledge that Del Toro's films have fucked up scenes in them.

Everybody understands and recognizes that damn reference. It was a famously quoted movie and got Oscar recognition. FFS man.

Not to get too off topic here but in the book Carrie was kind of ugly; she was fat and pimply, and the other girls made fun of her for it. They hated the fact that Carrie was getting sympathy and pity from other people because they thought she didn't deserve it. They were petty towards her because she wasn't good looking and she had poor social skills.Except one of the subtler points of the story is that Carrie looked no different than her tormentors--that if she had had a normal childhood, she could have even rivaled any of the girls that teased her. I do get where you're going with it though, and admittedly I haven't seen the movie. I've only read the book so maybe that aspect makes the story better in the movie, I don't know.
While you're all talking about this, what gets me about the original post:
Notice the first sentence: "needs to be remade every couple of generations"... Why, though?
I highly doubt an actual cat was killed and eaten, I don't think on screen animal deaths have happened since Cannibal Holocaust-- Could be wrong tho, but Tumblr lost their shit over a bird puppet getting covered in chocolate so...
