What's hilarious is that other than the "reeeee this game that takes place in a rural town isn't diverse enough!" people have pretty much left Concerned Ape alone prior to this poly discourse. Now it's almost inevitable they're going to find even more shit to whine about and turn on him hard.

Ugh I knew this would happen. Though to be fair I don't blame him for doing this before the rest of the player base decides to take their turn trying to throw him under the bus and look for any microaggressions to fuel their callout culture. Not to mention that the person he's replying to is the same user who has been throwing a massive fit over the whole thing and flaming people calling their crap out. Also doesn't help that indie developers are an extremely easy target for the social justice crowd, especially if it's a one man team.

(Besides I'm sure somebody would try to either mod it back in or make a cut scene replicating the event.)

It sucks hard being a creator these days. You have to walk on egg shells and any slight sign of offending somebody is enough to tear you down. I remember the severe harassment one indie developer got awhile back because they contributed to a fan zine for a ship Tumblr deemed problematic. I'm not fully sure if they quit the team but I remember it really upset them. They got slandered left and right and fans were actively trying to get them fired.

I honestly hold more respect for creators who stay true to their vision outside of maybe a few suggestions here and there (Shane and Emmy were only added to the marriage roster via a userbase poll after all). But straight up screaming "I DON'T LIKE THIS--CHANGE IT" until the creator feels pressured to do so is not only gross on the "fandom"'s part, but makes me respect the creator less.

If it's not legitimately offensive, keep it as it is. And as far as I can tell, there are very few cases of legitimate offensiveness in media unless you're straight up looking for it.

True, I am pretty disappointed with his decision to alter the mechanic. You can't win in this situation- if a game play feature is removed, people will get mad, and if it's kept or altered other people would get mad.

And as I said before indie developers are extremely vulnerable to harassment by the SJW brigade. At least with Harvest Moon/Story of Seasons, where people constantly shriek and foam at the mouth over lack of gay marriage and how it has "problematic content," the games are made by a professional Japanese game company. They're not going to listen to a bunch of screaming Westerners so they have an easier time saying "no" or "fuck off we don't care" without a lot of repercussions. Western indie developers aren't as lucky.

Do these people not have any experience with relationships in the LGBT community? I could be wrong but from what I've read abusive lesbian relationships are a big problem that nobody really gives attention to.

Most of the ones I've encountered are single. They don't know anything about relationships.

Personally I'd blame Disney and other cartoons.

Speaking of Disney...

(She's right that Reylo is a dull pairing, but man she has to bring the race bullshit to crap her opinion. Esp. since it's bull since arguably the most attractive character of the new cast is the latino man).

(...I got nothin').

WaltDisneyConfessions is a rage of a page. I'm surprised more posts of it haven't been posted here.

"i realized i was trans a few weeks after making this post"
lol alright. how convenient for you.
I've seen a post some time ago that, basically, pushed for lesbians to "realise" they're transmen cause it's "nothing wrong", so maybe she decided that's "in" right now. Didn't screenshot it cause I was sleepy as balls and thought it's not that interesting.
