(Too many images so I'll only add some of them here. All of the pictures are in the files section though)
lol "dystopian fiction" would be like a society in 1984 or Fahrenheit 451. Compared to today, those societies would basically be hell. (I guess this also means that the person doesn't know what dystopian fiction really is)
I accidentally cut off that reblog, here's the full text.
Imagine thinking a piece of cloth is oppressing you.

The important question is, reblogging a stupid post on Tumblr helps the Jewish in what way, exactly?
I guess reblogging that just makes them think “wow, I’m such a great person! I actually listen to jewish people and their struggles . I’m NOT a stupid nazi” but if they disagree with their politics in any way, they’ll throw the Jewish under the bus and call them nazis (unironically).

They're definitely over-reacting, but it is worth noting how weird it is how America in particular just slaps our flag everywhere. Also the Pledge of Allegiance itself is just bizarre when you think about it. We just don't question it just because we've been doing it for so long. So long, in fact, that there are people who remember doing it before "under God" was inserted into it during the height of McCarthyism.

But other countries do have flags in their classrooms. I know South Korea has flags in their classrooms, I'm sure there's more. Of course these tumblr kids can't use that to go on about how awful imperialism and capitalism is or whatever. The pledge is stupid, but I've never been forced to stand for it. They're trying so hard for this 'dystopian future' that they have to exaggerate.

I think Europe might be less inclined to have flags in the classroom. Germany especially.

Also, I have been forced to stand for the pledge. I think it being not that long after 9/11 might have contributed to it.

I've worked in several English schools and the only places you'll find flags are in Geography and Modern Foreign Language classrooms. Schools are more likely to have their own logo plastered everywhere than the Union Jack.
