It's a failed attempt at replicating fashion styles. You know, pretty models who go fully bald or has some ugly haircut but makes it work. Makes ugly unique. Knowing these whales however, we know that ANY unique is good unique, and they love nothing more than racking on identifiers and labels, so they go get some ugly shit dropped on their head and dye it purple.
Literally nobody gives a shit about your hairstyle if it fits and doesn't attract weird attention. It's like an ugly hat. Wear it enough and people stop caring, if you're that adamant about it. Hell, some of the hotter bitches I've seen had the balls to go bald to 'reset' their hair, or generally had a short style that wasn't just sidecut. But god forbid we just avoid the stereotypes we love hating on, such as feminine women needing long hair.

I went out for lunch and day drinks with my butch friend last week and the girl serving us brought us a free dessert to share because we looked like a 'really cute couple'. When I worked in retail I once assumed a gay couple had came to the fitting rooms since both the guys were effeminate and trying on campy clothing, when I asked if they wanted to share a fitting room because there was a quite a long queue they laughed and told me they were brothers.

I wouldn't have a problem with this because it's a blase but otherwise harmless commentary on beauty standards, but tumblrinas need to stop diluting the term "blackface" so much. I've heard everything from tanning to using bronzer being called blackface and all it does is make people stop listening to you because of the obvious difference between, say, wearing makeup to play a character in a movie and a minstrel show.

I've seen somebody just getting a tan because they're in the sun referred to as blackface before, they don't seem to realize they're the ones making actual racism harder to be talked about by crying wolf constantly. If you tell me someone's in blackface, they'd better be painted up super dark with big lips and imitating racist black stereotypes. Since that's what blackface is supposed to mean. It's not curling your hair.

I can understand it a bit more with the likes of the Kardashians, although I'm sure they have close roots to Armenia, where the girls purposely make themselves this 'beauty standard' which is like a big brown Barbie doll but even then the problem is more 'stop idolising these fucking plastic surgery everything is so easy for them millionaires, this is not real life' as opposed to 'uwu blackface uwu so rwacist'.
