now that gay marriage is legal nation-wide im seeing an overabundance of posts on my dash that continue to complain about how its not enough. like. these fuckwits will never be happy. they dont understand baby steps and how every little bit of progress helps. they dont understand how people where i live are going to whine about how america is failing as a country, spout leviticus 20:13, and overall just be ignorant asswipes ("when will it be legal for me to marry my dog tho"- actual facebook status) just because we are actually trying to give liberty and justice for ALL, but no. think about the QUEER PPL MORE

(yes i understand that theres a lot more work to do, but come the fuck on. the lgbt community is being handed such a momentus occasion on a silver platter and then some of them have the audacity to snub their noses at it)

What exactly are they complaining about?

basically, that instead of celebrating the legalization of gay marriage in all fifty states, lgbt people need to think that said legalization is basically a moot point in the grand span because of how discrimination still exists. metaphorically speaking, its akin to how one would be happy to have a peach when starving, but others say that they shouldnt be happy because theyre still hungry. its just very spoiled child-like to me, and since im bisexual in the deep south- cliche as shit i know but true- it especially agitates me.

They don't realize gay marriage was pushed for so hard in the first place in reaction to the AIDS epidemic which would separate partners from one another without any legal way of keeping hospitals from straight up telling people "you can't see your dying partner, you're not married or in their family, GTFO."

Found a post that exactly portrays the bullshit that you are talking about

Something tells me that if this person was a transman, "Leah" wouldn't give a shit.

so what youre telling me is that its a bunch of spoilt (and probably gay-trending knowing tumblr) millennials pitching a fit because most of them dont know about legitimate personal discrimination. wowie zowie

Oh so they love their victim complexes and don't want to take any small victories in stride. Shocking. /sneed

These posts are so cringe worthy. "Oh no, they took one of my oppressions away! Give it back! I need those!"

The funniest thing I've seen is Bi people getting pissy about being "erased" today. I'm pretty sure that's what the B in LGBT is for, sweet cheeks.

I checked in on the first trans person I ever met years ago, today. He worked so fucking hard to be the man he knew he was on the inside. His family disowned him, and he went through some serious hell. Put himself through college, worked backbreaking jobs just to have money to do so. He use to run programs for trans kids to help them out.

It literally took me half a year to even find out he was trans, because he was just super fucking happy being a dude.

Then he found Tumblr culture.

He's now "agender" or whatever the fuck it is, switching from guy to girl every couple of days, posting this kind of Tumblr nonsense to Facebook about how trans rights are being ignored today and how his/her identity is being erased.

Not just today (there was just a lot of these kind of posts today), but for months it's been like this.

Thanks to Tumblr culture and an obviously weak sense of self, all those years of struggle were literally for nothing. He could have just lived at home as a half-the-time-girl and never had to do jack crap.

Everything has to come back to trans people.

Gay marriage? Actually about trans people. Abortion? Trans people can get abortions too! Gun control? Some of those guns are used TO SHOOT TRANS PEOPLE.
I think all the time these people spend on Tumblr has left them unaware of how rare trans people are in the real world. To hear them tell it, nearly everyone is some form of trans, and the small amount of cis people left in the world are pure evil and would murder trans people for no reason if they got the chance. Staying in the house all day and getting all of your information from an online hugbox really distorts your perception of reality.

If you've ever felt remotely uncomfortable with the gender roles of the sex you were born in you're 100% trans, apparently.

Unless you disagree with them about some trivial bullshit, then you're automatically totes cis scum. Or the dreaded truscum.
