Who cares if 66% of little girls like science and math? That doesn't mean they're good at them, or even have the slightest idea of how complex and a demanding higher level science is.

All fucking kids like science and math in elementary/middle school; they talk about dinosaurs, and rockets, and do experiments with volcanoes because it's all awesome and cool. But then you hit high school, and you start having to do shit like calculate the amount of joules needed to heat up so many mol of water, or various gravity calculations based on the size and orbit of a planet. Then it's not so much fun anymore. Trust me, I've struggled many times

On top of that, multiplication and addition is fun, but Trig and Calculus aren't. Every time you get to a different level, you're gonna knock off a few people who used to like that subject.

Also, is this why we need government intervention? Because parents are raising their children in the way they want? Or is it the teachers, which are around 80% female now, holding down female students?

(P.S.- The bit about "why don't you hand that to your brother" also might be less of a sexism thing and more of a age/experience thing.)
It also didn't give the percentage of boys who liked science and math or any statistics on english or history
if 66% of girls like math/science and 99% of boys do then it isn't very surprising that 88% of engineers are male especially if there is a stronger preference (say 20% of boys like english)
assuming that 66% of girls like math and 80% like english
90% of boys like math and 20% like english
liking english and liking math are independent events

for girls there is a
0.528 chance of liking both subjects and
0.132 of liking just math
0.28 just english
.06 neither

for boys there is a
0.18 like both
.72 just math
.02 just english
.08 neither

assume that for each category there is the following probability of going into science
both .4
math only .9
english only .1
neither .4

this means that for boys
.18*.4+.72*.9+.02*.1+.08*.4=.754 probability of going into science

for girls
.528*.4+.132*.9+.28*.1+.6*.4=0.598 probability of going into science

.598/.745=0.80268456375
so the ratio of men to women in science should be about 1:4
this is completely excluding any gender differences aside from difference of focus of interest and having boys being more focused on an individual inerest

plus, Samus was mutated with bird DNA and lived on a planet the probably has a lower gravity pull than earth.

I was gonna mention this, and I thank you for bringing this up.

So being tall and muscular means she must be transgender? Implying that a cis woman couldn't possibly look like that? There they go again, embracing those sexist stereotypes they claim to hate so much.

Well it's all for the greater good when you incite bigotry to advance your cause, which in this case is asspats and acknowledgement.

This was not on Tumblr (to my knowledge), but I found a blog called "Stuff White People Like".

http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stuff_White_People_Like

The blog portrays white people as naive, shallow and materialistic, mocking their interests in a dryly condescending manner.

Double the irony when the blog's author is a douchey white guy named Christian Lander.

I find it insufferable, but I'm sure that many obnoxious Tumblrites would love such shit.

I used to find that book more comforting when I lived in Berkeley, because that town is full of insufferable stuffy white people. Kinda like what the book described. Of course this was before the big SJW boom on the Internet, which has made me more cynical in a sense. If I looked through it today, I'd probably have a more negative opinion.

Friend of mine is starting to reblog this kind of Tumblrina shit. Will post more as I see it.

So apparently you are allowed to say a most likely straight character is bisexual just fine, but I bet if you called a most likely bisexual character straight you are literally satan you cis piece of triggering shit.

In Tumblrland, everyone one is queer until proven otherwise. And even then. Actually, ignore the "until proven otherwise" part. There we go.

Seriously though. This shit annoys me. Headcanons are fine. If you like to think a character likes both dicks and boobs, then great. But don't get upset when a character who has only shown romantic and sexual attention towards the opposite sex is presumed straight.

The site wasn't half bad when it first started. It mostly made fun of hipster douchebags. Ironic how the authors themselves would later turn into hipster douchebags for social justice.

Maybe the vast majority of the time when people make fun of conspiracy theorists they're just making fun of how ridiculous they sound? Not everything has to be ~ableist~.

You know, when dealing with conspiracy theorists, enabling them seems like the opposite of how you would want to go.

Honestly, I've found that conspiracy theorists tend to dig in whenever you try and show them why their beliefs are irrational or incorrect, so it's more of a damned if you do, damned if you don't thing.

Most conspiracy theorists don't have anything wrong with them, they're just gullible or want to feel like they have "special" knowledge.
