Matt writes "straight males to identify with" as though kids have any idea that's what they are doing. Kids are dumb, they'll identify with things that are like them soley because they're like them. Matt seems to think he's writing for largely adults, who in reality, shouldn't need TV shows to represent them because they're adults.

Fairly sure the only people who need 'representation' in shows are kids who aren't really developed enough to see past physical traits in order to identify with them. When an adult talks about how they need representation, they tend to be a manchild like Chris or a Social Justice Warrior. The SU writers end up being a lovely mix of both.

Yikes. Although in a sense, I can kinda see where he's coming from. Male action heroes greatly outnumber female heroes and asking for a male gem is rather silly, considering that the main character is technically one. Seriously, what? The minions have been referred to as such since the first movie, because they ARE evil minions (if incompetent). Minions is a good, movie-related, and memorable title, and the target demographic can pronounce it. I can't think of an "equally-catchy and synonymous" title. I don't think that it's anti-semitic at all. I doubt that the "Jewish family friend" exists, or if they do that they said such a stupid thing.
