Thank God that speedrunners found a skip to bypass that infamous Orxon section.

TLDW: exploit camera collision with level geometry and frame perfect animation to propel you very high where the Infobot is.

I'm unsure if this skip works on the PS2 version.

How many Clank sections did the original have? I think two or three. I remember the Orxon Clank sections being a massive difficulty spike that hindered my overall enjoyment. That's probably why I look down on Clank sections. That and Size Matters.
Pretty sure it had 3, the Space station, Orxon, and the giant Clank section on Quartu. Orxon is admittedly a tough level for both Ratchet and Clank to deal with. The crabs have a decent amount of health and will completely wreck you if you don't load on bots before you approach and pitfalls everywhere. The lower health count doesn't help either since I'm fairly positive the crabs do two pips of damage per hit

that's not true for the original R&C since health runs on Spyro logic where any threat that isn't an instant death obstacle takes exactly one health from you compared to the more traditional damage model the rest of the series has.

...It has been a long time since I played the original so I guess it just felt like it did double damage since I have memories of them giving me a hard time

Technically, four because you're Giant Clank during the first stage of the Drek boss fight. I did not count the Giant Clank sections from my reasoning.
True, but I didn't want to count it since it's a phase in a boss fight, although I suppose you could still consider that a section in its own right. But at that point we're just splitting hairs.

I prefer Orxon as Ratchet. You get the drab, gloomy futuristic theme with the toxic, strong enemies wondering what life was like there before the pollution started.

The Clank section in Size Matters should legally be considered a form of torture. He moves SO. FUCKING. SLOW. And you have to do these annoying gimmicky segments like leading your bots down this spiral ramp while ducking into cover to avoid boulders. Size Matters isn't a great game in the first place but the Clank segment makes me never want to replay it.
