Here ye, here ye!! On conclusion of the current moderator election, I will be stepping down as moderator. This is not a decision I made lightly, but the number of death threats emailed to me by those wonderful Gamergate-involved, hot-pocket consuming, socially-challenged jackasses has brought pause and reflection upon myself and my punkhouse. I have zero interest in video games (note: I found RW in 2008 when I was living homeless in a park across the street from my college). Furthermore, while it is now clear to me that Ryulong's assessment of Gamergators was subtle and rose-colored compared to mine, I don't care enough about Gators to fight them and continue to want to put minimal skin in the GG game. As such, while it violates 100% my old-guard inclinations of social libertarianism on RationalWiki, I place my faith and endorsement behind any moderator candidate seeking either to mothball and erase that section of RW ir, contrapositively, behind any moderator candidate opposing turning RW into another playground for pro-GGers.

As for me? I will continue to support RW by all means as a part of the rationalist movement. But I cannot put a stake in what the would-be doxxers find out or know about me enough to want to continue on RW in the current persona. It's not that RW means that little to me but, rather, that I mean that little to the overall cause of rationalisn itself.

I think, as Ikanreed suggests above, that the issue of concern here is (not exclusively) but atleast first and foremost: is this user pushing any type of paedo apologist agenda onto the actual page in any way, shape or form? If so, throw him and his edits to the dogs for all I care. If not, well, the discussion certainly continues. But the point that shouldn't be missed is that this isn't a discussion on our stance on paedo apology - we have zero tolerance for that. This is a discussion on if this japanese name is appropriate. They are used to fighting with quacks, fundies and the dregs of the conservative movement. They have never had a chan, reddit group or us interested in them.

I don't think they realize that as far as our doxing goes. (We have really been holding back a lot.) This little bit of interest was all it took for David Gerard to become everything he says is wrong with the world and all that he used to hate.

Another Kiwi in both meanings of the word, this one is Dan from Wellington and actually exhibits some online PERSEC, as you'd expect anyone who's actually browsed the cwcki to do. His surname is kept quiet, he uses the stiffmeister as his avatar, and if he maintains a facebook it certainly isn't connected to any of his spergy online interests. There's an AceMcWicket linkedin claiming he's a manager for NZ tech but since when do linkedins use retarded internet names? No Dan's are listed as manager there, in any event. I don't think we're gonna dig up this guys irl surname but feel free to doublecheck for anything I've missed, I'm mainly posting it because his CWCKI account made me laugh out loud.
