I actually do not understand this. There was a good chance of Mona - for once - getting punished for her antics. While it would certainly have diminished our fun a Kiwifarms, it might have actually helped the wiki.

The wiki is doomed. About the only hope would be to burn down everything and start a fork from back in 2010 or so before the morons completely took over.

Or remove David Gerard as defacto "chief boss". As much as we laugh at them, they wouldn't be doing so poorly if their leadership wasn't basically cucked by the fact Davo is the only active member on the rationalmedia board, and for all their talk of "mobocracy" he still gets the final say in every matter he chooses to press, and he's a retarded piece of shit.

If David Gerard was gone, or even if he only had as much influence as any other mod, I think they'd be capable of sorting out at least some of their issues.

The site owner is The Rational Media Foundation. The only active board member of the RMF is David Gerard who enables and perpetuates much of the daily site drama. So, not too much traction in that idea.

Oh, I thought there was actually someone else who owned the servers or was the primary financial backer of the site. If that were the case, it would probably be best to persuade them to intervene.

So, my understanding is that the site's contributions are way down, right? Is there a possibility that Gerard will be faced with either shelling out a lot of his own money in the appeal or shuttering the site?

There is also trent toulouse, but he only shows up to ask for money nowadays but could possibly bring the people into line. He's also the entire reason they have moderators, after the last system fucked up and nearly burnt the place down.

And the problems of the site extend well beyond David, the culture of "I'm big and important and can do whatever I please and you all should listen to me because I'm so great" and "The rules only matter when we want them too" have roots in the old users like AceMcWicked, NuttyRoux and Human, who would go around chimping out and making messes without punishment pretty much whenever, even "in the sane days" before it spiraled into this. The only real difference now is the reasons for the chimpouts.

Human is also a RMF member and still active.

The 2016 elections fizzled out, by the way. FCP kicked it off after nothing happened for a while and then nothing happened... Normally they should happen in December or January...

Active isn't the word I would use for a user who hadn't posted since February, and that was only for two months, before that he only posted every so often until the beginning of 2015. Human isn't active, he just wants to feel important on a wiki still and so tries to get people listen to what he says ("Here let us make an article out of this, and by us I mean you guys")
