The paradox of tolerance seems to be very applicable to leftists and blacks. The more leeway given to their ideas the more they intrude and attempt to displace all of the tradition and culture of the past. That's the real irony here. Speaking as a Literal Neon Yahtzee, I can at least respect (in the rhetorical sense) the argument that, for example, the good Dr. Goebbels's tactic of marching into Berlin's most communist-aligned pub with a phalanx of Brownshirts and delivering an inflammatory diatribe (he really did this, and it worked) might be reasonably condemned as falling outside the confines of democratic sensibilities. One might, indeed, further condemn the Stormtrooper tradition of punching leftists in the face instead of listening to them as positively illiberal. That, and only that, is the level of intolerance that Karl (((Popper))) condemns in his oft-quoted work on the paradox of tolerance.
